It's actually quite useful to automotive builders. Learned a long time ago that the MPC Sheriff's car (Dukes of Hazzard/TJ Hooker/others) is VASTLY improved with the chassis and suspension from the AMT 71 Charger. Also agreed that it's good to recoup a few $$ when selling off the remains of a partial project never to be mentioned again....

Still here, although admittedly not like I used to be....Life does get in the way. But I'm here, and trying to build 😄

Short lived mecha before the events of Macross/1st Robotech War, one of the earliest Veritechs using the new technology from the crashed SDF-1. In it you can easily see its soon-to-arrive successor, the classic VF-1 Valkyrie series so dearly beloved to so many of us. It's a monster, a bit larger than the VF-1's, about the size of an F-14. Hasegawa 1/72. Didn't add a lot, besides cockpit side panels plus PE belts and details for the ejection seat. Thanks for looking

"Hollywood MiG" #4! From the Charlton Heston movie "Skyjacked" (1972). Film did not specify which Soviet planes they were imitating, only "Soviet fighters." Trumpeter 1/72 kit. Did some modifications in the cockpit and to the seat, even though it was to be closed canopy. Rebuilt the refueling probe with thick brass rod, and the pitot boom is a brass item from Master. Learned the tail is really "D" sized almost too late, and had to cut it down after paintwork was well underway. Also had to fill in the ribbed rudder section. No correction for the intake yet. Could

Special Hobby 1/72 to build my third "Hollywood MiG". The build was simple; the markings were not. I gave up on finding any decals ever made (why do I do this to myself???). The red numbers, the jagged flame intake, and the white and red discs of the emblem were masked and painted, the former with stencils cut into frisket mask sheet. Then, the numbers and jagged pattern were outlined with black decal striping (took an entire Saturday afternoon). Details in the round emblem were hand painted with fine brushes. Looks good enough unless you get really close.

Make me an offer on these 1/72 leftovers! They are well-deserving of a better home than I can provide. First, from AstraDecals, leftover decals for the Royal Netherlands "Orange Jumper" F-16B (I only used the generic F-16A/B stencilling, all airframe-specific stuff is there) plus injected Orpheus Instrumentation Pod. If you don't mind an extra fold in the instruction sheet, I can send it for the price of a postage stamp. Second, one single resin Soviet/Russia Kh-31 missile with AKU-58 launcher from AMC. Has almost all the tiny stencilling decals (there are a LOT).

Tell you what, even though this thing is nearing completion, I'll be first in line to purchase this sheet when it's ready. Shouldn't be too hard to add that emblem to the tail after the fact Any rough guess on an estimated release time period?

Long shot, I'm guessing not. But does this yellow bird emblem on the tail (New Mexico ANG) appear on any 1/72 sheet? Asking because I know it was done in 48th.

And now, for something completely different. From 1957's "Jet Pilot". Definitely not John Wayne's best film, but nice aerial photography. T-33's became "Yak-12's"; they made a decent effort, with tanks removed and a unique paint scheme. If only they had added red stars (heresy!!)!! Wolfpack boxing of the Platz kit. Thank you! Good question...the answer is my ignorance! I wasn't sure if they were truly visible, or buried deep inside the fuselage. Every walkaround I found must have had them removed for display, because I did check. I know the Mirage F.1 fairly well but not the Mirage III, on which the Kfir is based, so I really did not know....

Finished a "Movie MiG". Iron Eagle (1986) Kfir C2 masquerading as a "MiG-23" of the "Bilyan AF". Hasegawa 1/72 Kfir C2. Seems like almost all the Kfir aftermarket is for the AMK kit, which apparently is almost impossible to find. Would I be correct in assuming that F-84F 52-6984 would have originally had a green cockpit, based on its number?

Wondering if the majority of the huge red stripe warning markings on this Kfir in the movie Iron Eagle are overpainted, or just hard to see at this angle/distance?
