  1. Jeez, didn't know my F-111B book was now a gold mine! Glad I got it when I did.... For me the trouble isn't so much a conversion kit in 1/72 since I have the old Revell "B" nose; the trouble is finding a Hasegawa FB-111 kit for a reasonable price!!!
  2. To my ARC Family of over 20 years now, It's my joy to introduce you to my beloved bride. She is truly the most amazing woman I've ever known, a true gift from above. I was also blessed by fellow ARC'r and longtime friend Brian who absolutely fulfilled the title of "Best Man" like no one I've ever seen....
  3. I used to have about 80+ back in the day. AMAZINGLY I made it down to THREE by this summer. 😎 Then went to NATS and got a few. Well, 5. Don't need any more at my age (50)
  4. Unquestionably a masterpiece, is absolutely stunning! The wait and patience is paying off hugely!
  5. No argument brother, I'm still trying to find my way out of the dark on this. Was tossing out possibilities based on the site above, though still doubting myself. Liking your thoughts on the underside and on the green! Actually having a LHS in which we could go and actually see the paint would be great....
  6. Yeah, but not really a DEEP sky blue....I'm starting to lean more toward 73023, even though it seems awfully dark on the chip....
  7. Ok, so if I'm following this right, it's starting to appear that the AKAN colors would be 73141 (sand yellow), 73055 (green), 73080 or 73097 for the purple-gray sand, and possibly 73008 for the undersides, although it appears awfully blue compared to the very light gray appearance on the planes....
  8. Yep, that's exactly my concern is that since it's possibly French paint (unless they use the same stuff for the MiGs and Sukhois) it wouldn't be an FS number. I figured those are there to get us in the general ballpark, and that there's got to be an alternative....
  9. Wondering where I could get the correct paints for a Libyan Mirage F.1. Note the purplish brown color. Prefer enamels & lacquers, USA-based. Thanks! 11. Happy 100th birthday to USS Arizona survivor Lou Conter! Now only two remain from the 'Zona, both now aged 100.
  12. Yep, that's the late-season push bar style. I'm going to be selfish again and say I love the early one I did 😄 I did use Fireball's tires for my Daisy's Satellite build, though. Saw in the previous link you gave that they had the wheels for this car; wish I'd have known, but I was lucky someone from the car forums sent me the (same) wheels from a Chevy van, if I recall.... Thrilled you found the wheels you needed
  13. Definitely, Adam 12 would be a great build! I still often watch. As far as the Lee Creations, at the risk of sounding arrogant, I much prefer how my own cage for my "Lee 1" wreck came out as opposed to the one they're offering for $65 😄
  14. Hey there Dutch, Yep, definitely some neat stuff in there; took special notice of how much of his stuff is for the big 1/16 one. The fleet's basically finished if I could just figure out more solutions for this VW...ugh.....
  15. Hey, nice! I was going to have to piece together Hughie's plate letter by letter, but maybe now I don't have to, seeing as he has some Hazzard plates all ready to go... Thanks for that!
  16. Steve, I'm sure I speak for MANY when I thank you for all that you do as you pour your heart and resources into your passion, our home base site here. Even how on every model submission in every update, day after day, year after year, you always say the nicest and most encouraging things about absolutely every submission, regardless of the level of skill or photography. To be capable of this after probably thousands of submissions shows an amazing level of compassion and humility, something too often lacking in this world. Steve, I did not realize the struggles you a
  17. I've used PS several times for lack of alternatives. YES they are INCREDIBLY thin, but with practice, I found them very useable. I learned fast that the first thing to do when ready to use them, is to start out with some of the decals from the same sheet that you will not use. After a few of those start in on the smaller decals to use on your subject. Absolutely do not just start out with the biggest, best and most noticeable decal for your build as the first thing you use off the sheet, as it will likely end in disaster. But practice with a few first, and then advance to the ones yo
  18. Hey there my friend, you're too kind I did bring three Dukes builds to Nats, namely the General, the Jeep and the Tow Truck. I did have high hopes for the Tow truck, while the other two were afterthoughts (the General because of the crazy engine bay I did). Was disappointed in the truck being a non-placer, but Model Cars Magazine requested a photo shoot of the General. Actually, here are some shots of the whole fleet to date:
  19. Ok; Akan is acrylic, yes? Love the description I've seen of them except I've never had luck spraying acrylics. Obviously the trouble lies with me since thousands of folks apparently do it all the time 😄
  20. Anyone used Hataka lacquers? How are they, and how accurate are their colors for Soviet WW2 aircraft? Or, what would be a better alternative in lacquers or enamels?
