Australian Army Tigre ARH "WIP"
Viking_Samurai replied to Viking_Samurai's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Steve. I have scratch built all of the extras. And re-designed the front end myself. The colours are self mixed tan, with Mr Color Israeli green, and flat black.. Now that the flat black has been added, the tan comes into focus a little more and looks good.. Charlie. Thanks mate. It has been alot of fun this build. I know it won't be totally canon, but close enough for me.. Update: -

Ok, this just hit me today as I was looking at my pile of started, but yet unfinished builds. I was looking at my RAAF Hawk 127 trainer and next to it is my RAAF Super Hornet.. What will be the deal when we introduce the Hornets at the end of the year with the trainer? Will the RAAF retro-fit the Hawk 127's. Or will we need to acquire something different? I understand that the US Navy uses a variant of the Hawk. If so, is it used to train future Super Hornet drivers? Chris

So where can I buy a couple then? Chris -
Great job! I have the same kit, and have been scratching it into an Australian Army Huey D... Although the Aussie Huey is retired, I just had to have one in the collection... Have been looking at your build, and have enjoyed seeing it built in the manner it was meant to be... Great work.. I too have had to scratch all of the bags and accessories for my build, and am happy to see someone else doing the same to give it life... Mine however is on the shelf and waiting for me to get the creative juices flowing again... Cheers, Chris

Thanks guys! I really am having a ball with this Helo.. At the moment its a matter of adding bits here and there, and hope it all comes together.. I am going to be cleaning up the airbrush soon, and cant wait to get started with painting.. Another pic; -
Hi guys. Here are a few progress pics of my Aussie Tigre. This was started about 2 years ago, but then sat on the shelf.. Since then I have spent the last week going about finishing it. And am currently still scratching the lower misile sensor pod, and the Recon pod on top.. Most of the work needed was the total rebuild of the front end where the gun is positioned. Secondly, The main vent at the top right side had to be removed and filled. I then scratch built the dome rotor cover. And placed mesh behind the filter case that the kit supplies. I still have a long way to go, but am having

Charlie, thanks for your input.. At fist I thought maybe it was a vent of some sort to improve manuverability. But then thought maybe not.. It seems the Aussie Tigre's are the only one that has it? Chris -

He he he, thanks Ross.. But in all honesty, I have zero idea.. This is my first Helo in well over 3 or 4 years.. And being a Briz Vegas boy, I wanted to do a somewhat accurate Tigre.... Chris -
Umm.. I prefer girls......

Some guy did that with an actual toilet room on FSM about 5 years ago...
