  1. Thank you so much!!!! That is awesome.....uhm....well actually its quite awful. Poor Baby but at least I know what happened to it. Would you mind telling me the names of the crew under what is left of the cockpit? Any chance you could provide a just a little bigger version of thet pig. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton!
  2. Thanks for the warning Dave. Didn'thave any problems though. Must be they don't like you. :( I really wonder where that one went. I found a nice list about "every Intruder ever built" on the Intruder Association homepage but regarding 162212 its just "UNKNOWN" regarding the wherabouts. Well tough luck I guess. Does anyone have an idea if there are any decals out there I could use to build this ship, namely any low viz VA-115 decals? Thanks folks!
  3. Thanks, I'm currently googling around with not much success. I already searched the AMARG registry on that "Experience"-site but no hits for this specific BuNo.
  4. Can anyone provide any info on what eventually happend to the ship. All I could find out was that it was last seen being mothballed in Oceana in 1996. Can someone confirm?
  5. Thanks a ton man, that is great!!!! Crap, I really tried google, believe me but I could find anything. Must be indeed an idiot after all. Thanks a lot again!
  6. Hey guys, I'm looking for pics or at least some information on a very specific Intruder, namely BuNo 162212. I at least found out it was last seen somewhere in Oceana as a loading hulk. I'd like to built this specific ship but have no idea about markings or a squadron etc. the jet belonged to. Can anyone help? Thanks a ton in advance.
  7. Currently doing some scratch building on my 1/18 kitty. Took a little but its slowly coming together now. I'm way away from anything that resembles a D but at least I know now I could do without any aftermarket parts in case no one ever has mercy with the few 1/18 builders. Decals for my personal favourite are printed already and stowed away for now. (Not telling which one yet.) I won't have the time so soon to properly care about this baby but at least the major part of the major part regarding any conversion is done for me. a little hot bending and the negative tilting is gone:
  8. I'm looking for some neat detail shots on the TER systems late Tomcats were equipped with. Can anyone help out with some useable shots or a a link? Any help would be most appreciated. I already searched the forum but couldn't find that much.
  9. Really hard to find a proper answer to why such a bird with not even 2000 flight hours has been scrapped, even more so considering it was way before the retirement of the type itself. Here is her NATOPS appendix (Forget about the little Top Gun Splinter. Just a place holder until the depiction of 158625 is done). I wonder if I can find anything in there regarding those camera bumbs?! There are some really nice shots on the cockpit modifications though.
  10. Wait forget it I should read more accurately...SARDIPED AT PT MUGU....sorry!
  11. Thanks a lot for the clarification. O.K. I'm a little confused. Which one is the jet in the AMARG pic now? What happened to 158625 if she didn't hit the boneyard? I'm really really curious! About the modifications: Sorry Dave, my fault I misunderstood an older post here at the forum: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....mp;#entry932812 I think they were actually talking about 161609 having said modifications. Sorry for the confusion and thanks a ton again for the great and lightning fast help. Really appreciate it. Oh btw: ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS PHOTOS AS ALWAYS FROM THE MASTER!
  12. Mighty Dave Brown did it again. You just rock Sir!!! Still one more question: What kind of strange bump is there on "her" wing tipp??? I found out that this lady was one of the birds that conducted the AIM-120 shoots in the 80's. Anyone got some more info on her? The AMARG shot might be quite depressing but I must say I am fascinated. Are when was she actually stricken? Do you possibly have the AN1K number for her?
  13. Hello, I optained a NATOPS for NF-14A Tomcat 158625 and wanted to include it into a dio together with the model kit but got practically no info on that bird. Does anyone have some nice shots and maybe also some info on her and her fate? I know "she" was in PMTC and NAWC service and later went on to VX-30. As far as I could find out this bird was later also somewhat modified in an odd way being an Alpha frame with TF-30 burners but having a Delta-type nosepod and a Delta pit again but with GRU-7 seats. Thanks a lot in advance.
  14. Can I ask where you got that pilot figure? I am desperately looking for a crew for my Tomcat.
  15. Hey folks, just last week my 1/18 Tomcat arrived and all I can say it's an absolutely gorgeous KIT!!! yes I am looking at it as a kit that needs to be assembled (well after prior disassembling of course) and painted. I guess anyone else on that forum who's got one too thinks about the same way. Thing is, everything on that KIT just screams for B or D conversion: all the necessary antennas are there, it has BOL-rails and the gun vents are late style. Does anybody here around plan on converting his 1/18 Turkey as well? I'm asking because I am interested if anybody has already some ideas how
  16. I'm really thinking about reworking mine into a Delta or at least Bravo. Everything on that babe just screams for conversion (all necessary antennas, BOL-rails, late type gun vents etc.) If I only found someone producing at least the GE-burner cans in 1/18. I have a rough idea how to scratch build them but to be honest I'd rather spend some cash on some well made ones and save the work. Does anyone else consider a conversion of their 1/18 Tomcat?
  17. Thanks a lot for the info folks. Really appreciate it. Sorry for the misspelling - no native speaker!
  18. I'm up to building an EA-6B Prowler and am looking for posibilities to add some extra detail to the kit. I already got a nice resin cokpit as well as a wing folding set. I searched for an exterior detail set but couldn't find anything. Is there actually or has there been anything around or is it just not necessary? Thanks already for any help or info on this.
  19. I can only say: GET IT GET IT GET IT!!!! I got mine two days ago and believe me that thing is just incredible. I got the big one and I am as happy as can be. Chains are as good as ordered. It's really a lovely piece, look at that. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....=199248&hl=
  20. Thanks for the info. Just wanted to know if all those sets I already bought woulde have been for nothing. Good to know I they weren't. :D
  21. cool, just as I said. You'll never get a 100% perfect kit and in the end no one will ever realize every little catch there is, so what gives. We are talking about 1/32 and diferences in the tiny milimeter range. It looks pretty darn much like a tomcat and I#m pretty sure it will make for some nasty bad *** renditions here on ARC in the future. everything else is just antf#+@ing. But still just out of plain curiosity: you gave a really nice profound description here. you got any shots to it too?
  22. I got mine for a lousy 60 Euros wich is not even 100 USD so I can easily live with the one or other flaw. I really like the option of showing extended flaps and slats. Allows for some nice big dios. I think I might mix the Trumpy and the Tamiya kits. I think the rubber wing seal bags are nice feature. I still remember what kind of pain it was to scratch flexible wing seal bags for my revell kit. For everyone who likes to sweep those wings every once in a while this is certainly nice to have. I don't worry too much about the painting issue. I was aware I'd have to do the usual correction
  23. THAT is exactly what I was thinking right away the very first time I saw pics of the kit!
