  1. one in the light, one in the dark, and one very dark (at some point, there is no point anymore in taking pictures) ....
  2. So, another few day/night pictures of the whole plane and then I'll leave you alone:
  3. On the original, the fail was sealed at many areas and panel lines with a shiny glue / sealant. I tried to imitate this somewhat in the model. If the satin finish shines in one place every now and then, it is deliberately so!
  4. Another quick look at the engines; in the dark you can see more than in daylight
  5. A quick look at the belly side: The tanks and the payload are removable. As for the intakes; as you can see ....... you don’t see any of the rework, but at least I know it’s there hehe:
  6. Here's a quick look at the ... well ... almost DIY engines. Resin would be a nice idea here!
  7. Basically I think (well ... I hope) that all stripes are where they were in the original. Fortunately, the tiger foil didn't let much show through ....
  8. Here one can maybe see the small color differences on the slats again (mentioned in the WIP)?
  9. Depending on the sunlight, the film on the HUD display also casts a nice green shimmer and here the conversion work on the canopy frame might become a little clearer:
  10. On the original, depending on the angle of the light, you could make out a certain color difference between the gray on the foil and the paint on the jet. I tried to show it in a similar way in the decals. Otherwise, I hope that the tiger stripes also lie as in the original and all panels are where they should be:
  11. I am not sure how many pictures such a flyout should have. Should it be too much, please let me know and I will delete some immediately. Maybe a few detail pictures first ...
  12. So this is my 1/48 Ghost Tiger Eurofighter. When I did the design for Luftwaffe Fighterwing 74 in Neubrug Bavaria in 2018 I had no idea it would be so well received and eventually win "Best Painted Aircraft" at 2018's edition of the Nato Tiger Meet exercise and would also be selected as the Luftwaffe's official display bird on several occassions. Since the Ghost Tiger in 1/72 from Revell is a bit too small for me, and understandably this special livery means a bit more to me than some other Tiffies, the birdie had to be a little bigger in my showcase. In addition
  13. Vielen Dank Hajo! Weiß ich zu schätzen! Most sincere thanks. Happy it is well received so far.
  14. I confess I'm not too much around all the various modelling spaces anymore but I haven't seen all that many builds othe rthan the obvious incentive/promotion builds. I hope I'm not crossing any red lines but can anyone maybe share some links to all those builds that are written about?
  15. And with that I call this session as DONE! OVER! FINISHED! Thats it buddy! Elvis has left the stage! Thanks a lot for the interest and for following on. I hope the flyout (if wanted) will follow soon! See you for the next project!
  16. The display stand received some color that fits the model and will eventually get a nice sticker and a badge:
  17. Soooo .... the rest is actually just small things that are not worth showing. The tanks got their claws and all the antennas were attached to the fuselage. The launcher got the yellow rails and the payload was attached. And with that the whole thing is already done:
  18. Something that shouldn't be missing under any circumstancesand wich I just can't afford to miss ..... the small data plates on the inside edges of the canards. hehehehe 😋😂
  19. Originally the canards were painted by someone coming over to Neuburg airbase from the Erding facility closeby after a template that I did, but result was .....uuuuuuuhm ..... well, I better not open the can of worms anymore. It was not the nicest story. But in the end it was a good thing! The canards were painted black again after the first flight, the eyes that I designed as a template for the canards were enlarged and also printed on foil and then applied to the canards. The good thing about it is that I now have a nice keepsake. Thankfully the airwing was able to not shred on of the eyes o
  20. On the pictures of the original, small white dots can be seen in the outer areas of both wings. I never paid attention to it on the original. No idea what that is, but of course that has to be added to the model as well. Here you notice that you always have to make a cut on perfection when it comes to modelling. There must be some dimensional differences between the model and the original. The small dot is exactly in line with that of the slatson the original. On the model, I have to move it about a millimeter inward so that it lies correctly relative to the Knight's Cross. If I wanted to corr
  21. After I have adjusted the light stain the APU exhaust leaves on the fuselage with weathering pigments and thickened ash particles, there is a final countercheck and yup, all in all about all fix points are about where they should be and as the original . Enough! No more thinking about it, otherwise my brain will turn into gelly!
  22. After I compared everything a perceived 100x with the original until I had square eyes, I sealed everything again with Future and carefully smoothed the entire model including all surfaces outside of the decals with 2000 sandpaper and removed any bumps and orange peel. Then everything was covered several times with a satin flatt finish, until - at least in my eyes - it about matched the light effect that the Tiger foil created on the original. Is it is perfect? No! Are there discrepancies? Most definitely! But as it is now, it does suffice for me.
  23. After I had taken care of all the details, I must not miss the small details that can only be applied after the decal film, such as the raised formation flight stripes or the small GPS bump!
  24. So .... the rest of the decals are put on and so far everything looks not too bad. Of course, the edges and subtleties still have to be cut and evened out, but basically everything is as largely where it was on the original, at least for my terms. (Here can guess what it would have looked like if, like the Bronze Tiger at the time, the whole thing had been applied in gloss. Conclusion: Naaaaawwww, semi flatt finish was just fine hihihihi)
