  2. 05 03 2013 I know this is a long-shot but does anyone know if these exist as aftermarket or as part of a weapons set? Thanks in advance Liam ps, I know they were used on Hunters but I want to fit them to a Strikemaster.
  3. 14 10 2012 It was something along this line that I had in mind only in plastic. That resin body and chasis on ebay looks about right ( and would be easier to work with) but doesn't seem to have wheels. If I also buy the '41 Plymouth kit, it will give me the wheels. The rest would have to be scratch built as there is a divider glass between driver and rear compartment, much like in modern Limo's and taxi's. There are also a host of other elements particular to this car that would have to be home-made. It's a long-finger project anyways until after I finish University AND finish the stretched
  4. 12 10 2012 Was there much of a difference in the body work between the 1947 and 1948 Dodge/Plymouth? Liam
  5. 12 10 12 Hey there. They have the actual car preserved in Ennis, a town about 20 miles from me so I went along and took some photos. It's in good nick and gets a run out on very special occaisions and St. Patrick's Day. This is why I thought it was a Dodge Plymouth and even the official text along with it describes it as such. Anyways, I found this online as well.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/261110825572?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Which looks like the right body work. Combine that with the wheels from the '41 and prehaps I have a shot at it Liam
  6. 11 10 2012 This is what I am looking for: http://www.irishcentral.com/news/Eamon-de-Valeras-1947-Dodge-to-become-a-tourist-attraction-in-County-Clare-121854869.html and here http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/people/eamon_car1.htm The text elsewhere on that second site reads: 'This car is a 1947 Plymouth Dodge, registration number ZH 1333. Originally maroon in colour, the car was manufactured by the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, U.S.A. It is 226 inches long, 75 inches wide and 66 inches high. Weighing approximately 2 tons, the car can seat 8 people plus the driver.' Liam
  7. 11 10 2012 Hi Guys, I'm looking for a kit of a 1947 Dodge Plymouth. Is there any out there? Liam
  8. 07 08 2012 Guys, I bought some lovely decals to make this machine and as it's an early ( a 'D')Sea King what kit would be good for and any ideas what would be needed to back-date the 'H' kits currently avialable if that should be the only one I can use? Looking at 1/48 here. Liam
  9. 07 08 2012 WOW! Thanks guys. That flickr site is fantastic. Beautiful shots. Interesting the comments that most of the JAFO's consoles were cardboard and plastic. Smoke and mirrors indeed! Liam
  10. 06 08 2012 Guys, I appreciate that this is a looong shot but are there any detail sets out there for the Blue Thunder helicopter kit? Just bought one ( which I believe is the same plastic as the Monogram kit) and am wondering if anyone ever did any extras for it. Thanks in advance Liam
  11. 01 07 2012 Thanks for the replies guys. The cockpit shots are amazing. Any shots out there of the rear of the cockpit? Liam
  12. 04 06 2012 Hi Guys, I'm currently building the Italeri 1/72 kit of the C-130J and plan to convert it to -30 configuration. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a website or two that shows the cockpit seats and their arrangements please? I plan to build it as an 86AW 'RS' tail-coded machine for a mate. Thanks in advance, Liam
  13. 17 02 2012 Saw this topic on Britmodeller at http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=234913093 Apparently there's a copy of your book selling on Amazon.co.uk for £576.15 ($911.74). And that's used, not new. I know that the recommended retail is £25.00. A typo? That's amazing. I wonder if the retailer adds a few bits from an A-10?? Anybody else ever come across this kinda thing? Liam

    Irish Seafires?

25 01 2012 Most Irish modellers go with the 1/48 Airfix Spitfire mkVc/Seafire IIIc kit for this and then use the MaxDecals sheet for the markings. The sheet can be seen here: http://maxdecals.com/webpages/max4821.html He also produced a book on the Irish Air Corps http://maxdecals.com/cover.jpg which can be purchased from the same site. If you would like, I can email you the relevant sections on the Seafire. Your biggest issue will be the actual color which was not a standard green and general consensus is that they were initially delivered in overall British Standard Interior Green but the

  18. 17 12 2011 Amazing video. I have to ask, when you get to see the underside of the Herc, there are black streaks under the wing stretching out behind the engines. Is this exhaust staining or black underwing stripes or something? Liam
  19. 13 12 11 Does anyone know where I might get 1/72 decals for Omani Strikemasters circa 1972-ish? Been on ebay and there was nothing there. Any help appreciated. Liam
