  1. So, If I get an f-16 to build as ADF, what changes would I have to make to convert to MLU....Black Box C pit as already mentioned. Anything else? Could you recommend a kit, pls? And didn't I hear someone was going ot release a 1/48 F-16A block 10 soon? HobbyBoss? What about the Revell Tigermeet kit that was molded in black? Liam
  2. 22 07 09 Hi Guys. Can anyone shed light on the quality or origin of the AMT F-16A kit? I am looking for an F-16A MLU so I can do a Dutch Air Force machine....even if I have to go resing for certain parts. I just want a decent enough kit to put some nice decals on. Any recommendations? Liam
  3. Tamiya brought out a 1/48 B-17??? When did that happen??? Liam
  4. Thanks for the heads up, but Sabre says he wonlt ship outside CONUS or Canada. Liam
  5. Sorry Spooky, I should have mentioned that the jet in question was meant to be J-881. My apologys for that. Liam
  6. Really? Well, it didn't mention that on the decal sheet. Anyways, it did mention that scheme on this particular sheet was never applied as one general objected. For this photorealistic scheme, I think she was at the MLU stage. Paolo : What about the Italeri 1/48 F-16 kit...2654? It even has the line drawing Dirty Diana on the tail and decals for the RNAF?? Liam
  7. 20 06 09 Hi guys. I just picked up a set of Astra Decals 323 Sqn "Diana" decals. The sheet says they flew F-16A MLU Fighting Falcon's. Can anyone recommend a kit in 1/48 suitable for this kind of build, please? For some reason I am thinking Revell, but cannot remember if they brought one out in 1/48? thanks in advance Liam
  8. So the best thing to do is just get a 1/48 F-18C kit then? I know that's the obvious thing to do, but I wanted to see if I could one of the Italeri kits I have. No worries then. Darren: If I did swop out the tails with you, what else would be required? Obviously, I'd need a new cockpit. Might be cheaper just to get a C kit. Liam
  9. 20 06 09 Just thinking about doing this in 1/48. I saw mention of a simialr project being done mentioned in passing by someone on one of the threads here. I was wondering if there wasa conversion set out there in 1/48. Kinda thinking of using a spare Italeri kit, the one with the Swiss jet on the front. ( kit 827) Any advise? Liam
  10. Thanks guys, I ordered the SB sheet. It was the one with the sunrays I wanted. Sheet ordered, hopefully on hte way in due course Liam
  11. 29 05 09 Hi Guys, I am looking for waht I think is a squadron VFC-111. They use marking simialr to the Sundowners, but I think they are used in aggressor-like roles. Can anyone confirm this as I would like to getthe marking, if they are still out there, prefereably in 1/48. Was it Two-Bobs who did them??? Liam thanks in advance
  12. 19 04 09 Hi guys. A modeller mate is building a Sunderland and Catalina shortly and wants some advise on how to weather them realistically, given that they would have been quite exposed to the elements and would have operated aound, on or near water. Can anyone point me in the direaction of a few good articles on this? I don;t think he needs detailed build articles, but is more focused on the painting and weathering techniques. Thanks in advance Liam
  13. 03 04 09 Topic says it all. Looking for one of these and a rail to put it on if possible... Thanks in advance Liam
  14. And are the Kinetic kits worth getting? Good quality? Liam
  15. 19 03 09 Holy Crap!! When will these be available to buy?? I need a couple sets of each, I think.... :P Liam
  16. 01 03 09 Finally finished the car..... Only problem is that the kit has two rectangular door mirrors. They useda single round shaped door mirror in the movie!! Anybody got a spare?? Next mad idea is to make a figure to represent Steve McQueen, sorta! this is waht I started with. The figure on the right is a work in progress and kind of looked like the one on the left unitl I cut him up. Both figures, kindly donated by Col. , came from a racing car pit crew set. They are both posed to be carrying or dealing with equipment so some surgery would be required to pose the chosen one suita
  17. Hey Frank. I used Tamiya rattle-can TS-9 British Green. I believe the actual color is a shade or two darker, but this is close enough for me. The glue blob was handled by using using regular wet'n'dry sandpaper, starting with 400, 600, 800, 1000, and hten 1200 grit. Then I switched to the littlecars.com sanding pads set and using the smoother end of the range, worked it up to 12000, which practically is polishing the glass!! Then I used Peek to polish it and a coat of Klear to shine it up a bit. I added the front fender, headlights and joined the body to the chasis tonight and will finish t
  18. 08-02-09 Been working away on the Mustang. The chasis is in two main parts actually, the lower part forms the underneath on the car withthe suspension and so on, and hte upper part is the interior of the car. Then I masked off the body work and sprayed the chrome around the windows and across the doors. Disaster strikes!! Didn't notice until too late that a drop of glue had fallen onto the interiro of the rear window!! About an hour later, after prayers and sanding .... She's now safely under protection while a new coat of Klear cures!! Phew! Liam
  19. Weeelllll, as I built mine as a what if and didn't use the ordance, I could be talked into sending it you provided you pm me your postal address?? Liam
  20. Do you have a web-linky hting? I used to have htem bookmarked, but can't seem to find them. Liam
  21. Just toying with an idea, do they exist? I am making a 1/25 '68 Mustang Fastback and was wondering if there might be any figures I could use to model the driver standing beside it? Liam
  22. 15 01 09 Hi guys. Following on from an earlier topic, I recently got the Revell 1/25 scale Ford Mustang Fast back kit based on the car driven by Steve McQueen in Bullit. When I researched the car, the color was stated as Dark Highland Green. The kit instructions call for Gloss Green Metallic. Can anyone advise which/what color I could use and if there is an apprxiamte FS number??? I want to build this kit for my brother and obviously need to choose the correct color for it. Thanks in advance Liam
  23. 01-01-2006 Dumb question, but was the 1966 Ford Mustang only a hard top or was it also a fastback? I know, shows my ignorance. I found , as mentioned above, reference to the fact that Spencer, in season 1 at least, drove a 1966 Ivy Green Mustang. I don't really know the history of cars chapter and verse and hope someone here can guide me right, but was the mustang then in 1966 only a hard top? I need pics of the car fro mthe show. Liam
