  1. Maybe the best piston engine fighter of all times but mostly forgotten. The kit is Trumpy, and OMHO at the level of HobbyBoss or Tamiya, i have a blast putting it together. The only issue, for my fat useless fingers were the decals, they are great but little fragile , i managed to tear the number one of the port side and the Royal Navy, so for now are missing. My other 2 mayor mistakes, one i didnt anticipated that the roundels will show the black stripes through on the wings upper surfaces. The second, i absoluted missed the seam on the canopy, so besides having fat fingers i have short sig
  2. Hello Gents Aim looking for the hard to get Fairey Gannet from Classic Airframes 1/48. If someomne is interested in letting one go, or have a good lead where to found one , please let me know Thanks a bunch
  3. Done , my second and final Grumman cat for now, eventually ill tackle the Bear and Tiger. Again a beautifully made kit, easy to work wiht, fine details, very nice i truly enjoyed. Is as usual for me a straight of the box work, i added seat belts out of metal foil, nav lights and thats it, oh i took the "artistic freedom" and i scribed on the ordenance, just for the kicks. Well here goes i hope you like it
  4. Thanks a lot of your words guys. I got some new pictures, the first ones i posted are reaaaaaally bad. I hope you like this ones. Cheers
  5. Well, it was time to became a men and jump from the comfort of the Display Case to the real deal and hear somethinkg else, besides what i would like to hear. ohhhh Lord, thanks for giving us Hobby Boss, great kits OMHO, superb detail, little flash or ejection marks, they put together by themselves, i can get away wiht decent jobs being a lame modeller. Is an OTB job, just the seat belts made of metal foild, painted wiht Model Master enamels. Well here goes guys, and thanks for the critique.
  6. Ok aim done wiht my Spitfire series, got 3 in a row, and in the same year, can you believe it? Its an OTB deal, not a river counter here, just for the fun of it. The only aftermarkets are the seat belts, which are home made using metal foil and the decals, ops o forgot the position lights, my bad. Well here goes "City of Winnipeg" and she was a beauty
  7. Thanks a lots guys, i have no idea if the camo is real or not, i painted as the box, so not sure. Cheers
  8. Plano Thanks a lot for ur kind words
  9. ICM kits made me scratch my head, they are "weird". ICM manage to do very well detailed kits, they go overboard with internal components, but they, sometimes, are just good intentions. This Spit comes with a very well detailed Merlin, framework for the cowl panels and extra details, good luck putting all that together, early on the dry fitting i found out that, theres no way to put all the panels once you have the engine and framework in place, soooo gues what? no engine and no estructures on the nose. Also the 2 different rearview mirrors are out of scale, they are more suited for a 1/24 truc
  10. This kit was the perfect relief from another project, easy to assemble, simple scheme color, not much to add to it. Its my first Eduard and yeah thay are great kits, no flash, ejection marks, perfect fit, great detail. i enjoyed it. Well anyways here goes Thanks
  11. I got the kit just because i like the Spits and it was a bargain, if im not mistaken i payed 10 bucks for it. Now for the price i got an old school , lacking details kit , the interior is toyish like, the canopy is a "clear" piece of crap, wrong shape and thick as can be, the wing root is wrong doesnt have the "gull wing", but seemed to be a good challenge. I got a True Details resin cabin interior, prep it paint it and off we go, the fuselage was quickly closed, then came the wings, i made the guns barrels out of brass tubing and i did the face of the radiators using some brass mesh. Li
  12. Steve, here's a picture of the plane wiht the canopies open and the guns in firing position. http://www.fleetairarmarchive.net/Aircraft/Kingfisher_os2u_Museum_colour.jpg
  13. Guys thanks a lot again. Steve, the fixed canopy is the front one. The middle and rear ones slide one under the other, for crew access the middle slides under the front one, also dont forget that the radio operator/observer/gunner operates a flexible mount of twins caliber 30 guns shooting rearward so the last geenhouse section slides forward over the middle one. On the pic you posted you can see the frame of the middle canopy under the front one. Again thanks a lot for your kind words.
