  2. Looks good Scott. Hoping mine will look as good, that ia as soon as I can get back to work on her. Gary
  3. Hi Bill. Here's a photo of why I don't think I get done any time soon. Figure out that after the first couple of hundreds, probably be seeing them in my sleep. Thanks to EGT95 for giving me ideals and such as your self a push to do this. Biggest reason is the decals doesn't cover the back end like they should and wasn't happy with their dry fit. Gary
  4. Hi Bill. This is great sir and I am so impressed with your drawings that it is a honer to install them on my shuttle. One thing that model shuttles have needed for a while is good outstanding and different payload bays even if they add a couple of dollers to the cost and could never figure out why there isn't more but you sir have done a outstanding job on doing this. Don't believe my shuttle is going to get done any time soon and will be adding this as soon as I can purchase them, no pressure sir none at all. Thank you. Gary
  5. Hi Bill and Hotdog. I do believe am going to do Atlantis, sort of fell in love with her and it probably be in her later years. I have tile decals that I purchased from Ed some time ago off of ebay a while back and was saving them for this build. Well guess am buying some more paints Hotdog, probably get the ones from Alclad. All of the reviews of them say they are really good, for air brushing. They seem to have just what I need for her tail end. Thank you sir. Bill thank you,and maybe one day I will go back to work on her. As far as the photo that helps a lot and will come in handy when I d
  6. Thanks Mike she has taken me awhile to get to that point and have enjoyed building her very very much. It does seem at the moment am more interested in plastic models and painting them. Speaking of painting them, I have posted a photo that Tom had put on site for his detail kit for the shuttle and wanted to ask the good folks here what colors they would use to achive this look on the rear end of the shuttle? Figure I would need to order some paints to do this part and time wise, by the time I do get to the point of painting it, I would have them. Any help would be great folks and thanks to T
  7. Hi Mike and thank you. Figure I needed a slight change for the moment and hopfully I get back to Alfred, in the future, that is as soon as I build a few model kits. :rolleyes:/>/>/> Hi Bill. Yes sir the parts are working out great and thank you for doing them. Well as far as the separation motors, was going to add them later, which is why I went ahead and glued the SRB tops on and when I did finally get them, just took the tops back off and fitted them on the inside. Thank you for the help. Shows that one should never get in a hurry.
  8. Hi Mike and thank you. Shoot sir I thought I was moveing a little on the slow side. Work keeps me busy doing the week and weekends is when I make may biggest progress. Just using Thin and gap filling Cyanoacrylate to hold them in place. Still a lot of work ahead of me sir. Am really enjoying working on the shuttle Mike, gives me a long time break from working on my wooden ships. Scratch building one of them, now that is a slow process, about like a snail. :D Gary
  9. Thanks Andrew. I got the foam pattern ideal from the folks here and used Testors createfx, the sand Arena 79601. Still have a few places to redo on it. Here is some more photo's of the parts that was done by Niart 17/Bill. I also got the windows for her from AMP, along with real space models cargo bay. A little work to get it worked in but with out it don't believe I could reproduce the detail that he has put in to it. Also thanks to Vince Hoffmann I took his ideal about using metal tubing to get the sides stright but used wood instead of tubing, along with his ideal on how to redo the sill a
  10. Thanks Mike. Went out to Hobby Lobby the other night and brought about 15 of them for the shuttle and the rest of the parts and pieces. Well all I have to do now is practice a little bit and get use to my new Iwata Hp-Cp. Been told its a good one so hope it was worth the money. Gary
  11. Hi Mike and thank you sir for the links. They will be most helpful. I do need to sit down and take some photo's of the parts that Bill did and show them installed as close up. They really do make not only building it a lot more fun but a lot more accurate. Any way have a question for you and the other helpful folks. Its about what brands of paint, thinner and cleaner you use for brush work, AB, thinner and AB cleaner? Seems that I have been away from building plastic models and as far as paint brands there seems to be a lot of them. A guy could spend quite a few dollers trying to buy paint.
  12. Thanks crackerjazz. I finally made a little head way with her as far as the ET and SRB. I put them together on the pegs that I installed in the ET as a trail fit and couldn't figure out a better place to put it then next to my Saturn V rocket. Maybe next week end I just may get some paint on them. Gary
  13. Hi Mike and thank you. It does come from Shapeway but am not sure what it is made of. It was created by Niart 17/Bill and is a nice piece to add to the 1/72 ET. In fact Bill has severaly other parts for the SRB's and the ET. I liked all of them and will be adding them to my build. Here is a couple more photo's showing the rod through the ET for the SRB. Now all I have to do is figure out how and with what to make the struts, if that is what they are called. Any ideals guys. Gary
  14. Here is a couple of more photo's of the tank and the new beam installed on it. Seems it will bring this part of her to life and a whole lot more accurate then before. Still have a little bit more to do to it and maybe then we can put some color on it. Gary
  15. Hi Crackjazz and Bill. Thanks guys every little bit helps. Seems like I just may have to wing it sir when it comes to the tank color. Sorry about not getting back sooner but work and family keeps me a little busy at times. I finally figure out how to add photo's and will b adding some more in the very near future. Am Am sure you have seen others like this but just to show the shuttle and the ET. Bill just to let you know your parts came and they are outstanding and will help make her a lot more accurate. Also had to go and purchase a new airbrush, compresser and paint booth to give her a nice
  16. Thanks Mike and Pete. I have started slowly to go through the post and coming up with the different colors folks have used to help me on the paint and paint guides. Funny never thought there was so many oranges and yellows. :o Thanks again. Gary
  17. Thanks every one. As soon as I learn how to do the photo upload which am slowly figuring out, will up load some. In the mean time can you fellows tell me where one can get some good photos showing how to paint the ET and what colors are used where. Am trying to find a good painting guide and what color's to use. Has far as the ET main color all I can find is that it is a burnt orange. Problem is can't find that color, or what even makes it up, such as what precent of this and that makes it up and what those colors are. Going to be kind of bad if I can't even get the right colors. Thanks guys f
  18. Hello every one, am sort of new around here, at least the posting part and figure I would say hi. Have been hanging out for a while on and off and figure it was time to start a build log of the shuttle that am building. For the last couple of years I have been buying some after market items to help me make her a more detail kit but could not figure out which shuttle to build. Well I finally got a answer to that one when the Family went to Kennedy space center this month on vacation and saw the Atlantis in all her glory. Only way she could look in better is if she was attach to the ET, settin
  19. Hi Bill and thank you sir. I have been hanging around here on and off for awhile, and figure it was time to say high, maybe ask for some help when it comes to building my shuttle.Seems that the site has some very good builders such as your self and very knowledgeable folks, that know the shuttle inside and out. As far as a build log I just may be up to that and have lots of question on doing one. Thanks again Bill and look forward in using the great parts of yours, in her build. Gary
  20. Hi Hot Dog. Was wondering sir if you have finished your decals and were one can purchase them. Look forward in hearing from you. Thank you. Gary

  21. Hi Bill. This is my first post here sir and was wondering if you have every finished the Orbital Docking System 3D model? I have started to work on my 1/72 Monogram space shuttle with fuel tank and boosters and thought along with all your other parts that I have purchased for her, figure this would be a nice addition for the cargo bay. Look forward to seeing more updates on your build along with the outstanding 3D models that you have done. Your build helps me, in building mine and a big thank you for it. Gary
