  1. Nice, B-52's use to fly over my uncles ranch in Wyoming. One time we were up in the Wind Rivers Mountains. We were above the b-52's in the canyon they would fly out of and we could look down on top of the B-52 and actually see the pilots in the Cockpit and wave at them they waved back. Sometimes they would drop some weird shaped objects and chaff etc. on their run. West from the wind Rivers toward Idaho somewhere. This was in Bedford or Star Valley Wyoming. I witnessed this for many years from 1976-1980. i use to spend the summers up at my uncles ranch. Hauling hay and moving pipe and d
  2. It is better than nothing. Do you not remember how bad the early Aurora or Airfix or Revell or Monogram kits were in the 60's? Or are you too young to remember those kits? that I grew up on? The First Model kit I built was the Aurora B-17 G 1/144 scale? with huge rivets. Revell kits with oversize rivets. Or how about eastern block kits or how about Star fix or other foreign kits the early Hasegawa kits, were the same. Give the company a break. Like i said it's better than a Vac-u-form unless it's a Rare Planes. Well I have the references. I even purchased the P6M manual on ebay. S

    Mach 2 P6M-2

The windscreen is poorly shaped and it's true the Anigrand one is a perfect fit for the -2. Perfect on the Mach 2 kit. The Mach-2 Canopy is incorrect. The review is correct. I just found out about the Mach 3 kit a week or so ago. I've had my Anigrand kit since they were new. I have purchased every model of the Seamaster. The Mach-2 and the Anigrand are better than the Vac-u-Forms. S-

  5. I still have my old Revell P6M in the box from when I bought it at a Sav On Store in west L.A. in Gray plastic. I also have the reissue with rivets galore in blue plastic. The Older one is betteer. S-

    Mach 2 P6M-2

I own and am building both kits. Anything is better than the Airmodel or Canadian kit, Vac-u-form kit. My Father worked at the David Taylor Model Basin in Wash D. c. and tested early variations of the Jet seaplane. There were 10 or so variations of a jets seaplane model tested at the model basin for many years, before Martin finalized their design and Convair finalized their design for the Sea Dart. All to be part of the mobile seaplane strike force. I contributed to Stan Piets book and Stan sent me 10 or more drawings and photographs of the Seamaster of all three Variation of the Seamaster.

  9. Heavy Chain was the code word for what would become Combat Talon 1 MC-130 E. These aircraft were some days crewed by CIA crews and on other Days by USAF crews. My supervisor at Lockheed was one such pilot he said one day they flew for the usaf then the other day for the cia. The only difference was when they flew for the CIA. They took off their insignia sanitized their uniforms and blanked out the aircraft Insignia by covering it over with a painted piece of metal. with either zeus fastiners or slip it on like you would open and close a window. Plus their pay increased to twice or three time
  10. That looks like the first one I check the Praetorian Starship and Ray Leaders C-130 book and the World air Power journal article. It looks like the first Heavy chain. But it is hard to tell without seeing the Tail number. The paint scheme looks like the first Heavy chain. I will ask on the c -130 list for you if you like? S-
