  1. Brilliant, how much do they cost an hour
  2. grit depends on how good the tape you buy is. grip tape nowadays is very fine and more than suitable.
  3. Thanks guys for the ideas. I need to do a block of text so a bit too much for engraving but it was a good idea.
  4. now that is a good idea. What do you do to attach it to the base? is it sticky also? Thanks!
  5. I just had to do this for my revell hornet Fine craftsman file first then 400 grit then 1000 grit (dry) Then 1500 grit (wet) You can go finer then if you want to but there really is not need. after that it will look quite cloudy but very smooth. Pour some future (USA) or klear (UK) into a bowl, deaper than your canopy. Place canopy into bathe leave for a couple of minutes. Then remove to dry, place on paper towel to wick away excess. Once dry, give it one more dip straight in straight out and leave to dry again. You will then have a clearer than clear canopy
  6. Hi there I want to add a little description of my aircraft to the display base i will be putting it on. Its a wooden base with very nice finish. What is the best way to attach it o the displaybase? I was thinking print on good quality paper, then laminate it, trim it down then (somehow) stic it on. I afraid superglue will just eat through the lamiante plastic and paper but i want to have a nice smooth finish and make it all seem like one piece? Im open to all suggestions. Its a present for me pop so as you can imagine i want it to be perfect. Many Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for clearing that one up. Dont think i have come across them of late many years ago maybe, but i did have a ten year time off the modelling.
  8. Turn it into a red arrow display team plane. The swiss dont do much when it comes to planes wars etc. Maybe a swiss tourist plane?
  9. Ah yes i had the exact same problem, they were an arse to glue did you find the wing flaps needed doing too? before After Thanks to all who have given me some knowledge.
  10. Well you definately are focussed on this project. My god. Very impressive,
  11. Just thought i would share this with you. If you want to take some decent photos of your fighter jets and you are making a surface/dirama to place it on, you may want to try, wait for it, skateboard grip tape. Its pretty much perfect for using as runway material. Its easily sprayed and weathered and looks the part, it also has a peel off sticky backing and quite stiff too so really easy to apply. Im just waiting for some more to arrive and i will post some pics here once constructed. Make sure its palin black and not some naked picture of a chick for a 13 year old hormone munchers skate deck.
  12. Masking for puttying - never would have though of that but what a good idea! brilliant thank you.
  13. Thanks Gents much appreciated Mark W you mean these engine walls?? Before After now you see my need for re-scribing this little number.
  14. please pardon my ignorance, what are raised panel lines? thanks
  15. Hi there, just wanted to know what your general methods were of getting back detail lost through puttying. When i am putting, the putty always gets into the panel lines. using a sculpting knife only takes thin lines out and runs the risk of going into the plastic. I have hightlighted some examples of this with red lines below Many Thanks in advance.
