  1. Thanks for the response guys. The decals are somewhat thick and I don't detect any silvering. The decals were applied on a flat finish and they took well. I think I may go the route of applying Future first before applying the dullcote though, just to even things out.
  2. I have finished applying the decals to my Polaris Starship Enterprise and I have noticed that the decals are quite glossy next to the matte finish of my paint job. I Have Testors Dullcote but have never really used it before. Should this be thinned before use? What should I thin it with and will it work to cut down the glossy finish of the decals?
  3. You know what? Just a bit of correction here. It's actually the third Thursday of each month. I can't go this month because I'm working.
  4. The group at Spare Time Hobbies meet every third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm. They're a good group of fellas who are pretty enthusiastic and are helpful as well. Winnie, I would definitely be interested in attending.
  5. Those look great Pep. Did you use the riveter after the coat of paint?
  6. Wow, those are awesome deals!! Could you pick me up something???
  7. I also find that a good shot of primer can enable better adhesion for your top coat, especially if the surface you're painting is very smooth or glossy.
  8. That's actually some timely advice. I was just undergoing some issues that you described and now, I think I can jump in and be better prepared with my next modelling project. Thanks!!
  9. See, I just like to go to a movie to be entertained. If I want realism, I'll watch a documentary (which I do in spades by the way). I'm definitely going to see this one.
  10. You're definitely on the right track. I'm doing up an F8F Bearcat in deep sea blue (Testors model master paints) and the markings require a large orange stripe on the fuselage. I laid a white base coat first and then applied the orange. It would have looked odd without the white base coat due to the transparency issue. Good luck

    Airbrushes

I have a Master airbrush. It's not too bad for my first but sometimes it leaves me, I don't know.....a little...eh. <_<
  12. Hey White Wolf, Glad to have another newbie around like me. I'm still learning the ropes just like you and I feel daunted at times by the skill of some of the ARCers here. But they're a great group and are always willing to answer any question you might have. I'm building the courage eventually to join a group build... Thanks for the drink!!!
