I'm interested in this B-1R idea for a 1/72 I just got. Saves me the problem with the exhaust cans. Would you move the engine nacelles to the top and blend them in? The slanted tails would be a nice touch too.

Keep your head up! No matter how much money you make you will spend it all anyways! BTW, I did siding for 12 years. It may actually be a blessing in disguise that you're not able to go do it right now. It's 101 in the shade here and probably feels like about 115 to 125 in direct sun. Keep going, that's all anyone can do.

Reviews are necessary in making decisions about kit purchases. We all want to see what it looks like when its completed so we can judge for ourselves if the "mistakes" are relevant to the outcome of the model. When I read lists of modifications of what a person chose to correct to depict that exact version of a plane, they are often things that most wouldn't even notice if they hadn't told you that they did them. For instance, all of the work that goes into rescribing a raised panel line kit, only another modeler that is familiar with that kit would know you did it. My friends look at it and it just looks like another model airplane to them, totally oblivious to the fact that I slaved away sanding and measuring and scribing the right details in all the right places. In the end it's just a plastic airplane. I build larger scales now just because they look so much more impressive to the average joe, and to me. So, yes we need reviews so we can avoid the junk or at least know what we're getting into when we decide to build something that needs correction sets or rescribing.

I started to try and list all of the holes in the plot and story, but I didn't think anyone would bother reading such a long list. Very disappointing, the ridiculous story and plot turn this into a special effects movie only, and even that gets old after 2hrs40mins. I would like to see someone else re-do this franchise similar to how Batman has been done recently, a little darker, and a lot more realistic. If it weren't for the special effects, which these days aren't that big a deal, this movie would be a total disaster, it's not even a good 80's movie. I would be ashamed to have been a part of it. Bay should be beaten, repeatedly, if it lasted as long as the movie I think it would at least be as equally entertaining.

I also thought about a destroyed vehicle for the pull up shot, but how the heck do you model that?
I've got plenty of those that I seem to keep creating by accident, but I just threw out my F'ed up models box cause I kept digging them back out thinking I could fix em!

Fortunately, weird and modelling are often synonymous. I know a lot of weird people in modelling who are not as insane as train modellers, or as fanatical as RC guys, or as scary as some of those knitting ladies. We all have our quirks, just some of us have them larger...
Now, as far as Brett's shirt...what RLM colour is that green leafy shape?

I believe that is a copy of the extremely rare camo pattern only known to have existed on a Fw-190D-9 piloted by Don Juan Demarco. The RLM reference numbers could, of course, not be verified, but it is believed to be a combination of whatever paint was left over after they painted the rumpus room at the Eagles Nest.

I've been messing around with using pencils for effects that I need more control over. I have found that a gloss coat is a must for this as anything less will really soak up the color. They have watercolor and pastel pencils along with the regular ones. Very controllable, just like a lot of things if you don't like it, rub it off with a damp cloth or use a wet brush to tone it down or drag it. The only problem is I'll probably have to buy one of those huge sets to get all of the colors I'd like to have.

I'd really love to build a modern H version, but now I'm a little put-off from the idea from reading this thread. Are resin fixes still available to correct one of the awful 52H kits?
I've got Revell's 1/144 scale B-52H and it looks like a nice kit, but I haven't run it throught the ringer yet to locate its flaws. I'm sure somebody will chime in on that though.

I took a closer look at my sprue cutters and they aren't even sharpened. At a glance they appear to be, but at the bottom they just flatten out like pliers, what a joke. I can't believe I've never noticed that before. Ordered the new Xuron's today from my LHS.

I know this is a long shot, but I figured what the heck. I'm looking for a set of Cutting Edge Exhaust cans and thier "Painted Bones Pt 1" decal sheet. The exhaust cans don't have to be Cutting Edge, but they need to be almost as good and I don't need the whole decal sheet just the ones for "Boss Hawg". Thanks for looking and thanks for the help.

Thanks for the clip Gerry. My cutters are definitely not cutting as clean as that one does. I guess maybe its time for an upgade. I think cutting the sprue up into smaller trees would help. I also think the flexing of the part on the sprue is contributing to the tearing. If you were to cut the sprue up then you would always have a side of the sprue that would be open, instead of cutting parts out of the middle which causes the pinching. Again, thanks for the clip, I'm glad I can see just exactly what I will be getting.

I've been having a problem with my parts being pinched off leaving little torn spots instead of smooth cuts. I've tried different methods but it seems almost unavoidable. Ive been thinking about replacing my old spruecutters with the new Xuron 2175ET. Is it really that much better or should I just plan on filling and sanding those kind of spots when they happen. I usually try to cut them farther back and then sand them flush, but I'm still not getting the right result all the time. I've tried sawing, but the back and forth motion seems to cause tearing as well. Who's got the new Xuron's and what do you think? Also, what methods do you use to prevent or minimize sprue marks?

Oh well, maybe Revell will release thier 1/72 B-1b and that will then trigger Eduard to offer there exhaust cans in 1/72. The 1/72 Cutting Edge cans were on Ebay recently for around $70, and I guess somebody bought em cause they aren't there anymore. Wow, never thought he'd get that for em, guess I was wrong. I'll probably build it so that I can replace the cans whenever I finally get me a set. Or maybe I'll build one of the other 50 kits in my stash. Why do I buy so many kits? I think I just like the pretty boxes!

Sorry, it's not a fuselage correction set. It's a conversion for the L-100-30. I'm not sure if I need that or not. I would like to do a C-130E using the Draw decals for the Arkansas ANG. Is that the extended body C-130 or is it like the one in the kit? I'm no expert on C-130's, but they used to fly over my house at what seemed like about 300', till I moved. I'd like to do one just because they are a regular part of our lives here in Central Arkansas.

I've got 2 dogs and have found out that I'm allergic, but I can't bare to find them a new home. I don't know her condition, but I would postpone it as long as I could, nature will take it's course eventually. Very sorry to hear of your loss, dog's are like family and sometimes even better.
