  1. You might as well use single seater to do that...that is because Su-37 is a single seater. No point of rebuilding basically an UB frame to a normal single seater one.

I know. I was referencing such items as the tail fins, landing gear, IRST, etc. Do a bit of part swapping.

also saw, but no pics of, the PAPA 01 c-17, and one about to be rolled out of Boeing's hangar bound for Qatar? had big lettering on the side of the fuselage in CAPS, started in Q , ended in AR. only saw the plane from the front, and at quite a distance. Anyone know details? :)

Wow. Nice pics! Qatar did order 4 C-17As. They should be delivered soon.

  3. My Revolution CR turned me around in airbrushing. I was using a 155 Anthem and though it was a great airbrush (seriously), but I was having a difficult time getting the thinning ratios right, the results weren't the best, trigger wasn't as smooth as I had hoped, tough to clean...etc, etc. (It was probably me.) I was literally about to give up on airbrushing, and I was only really using it for Warhammer 40k mini's....

Then I bought the Iwata. I have become much, much more confident with my airbrushing. Light years. Between the super thin lines (thinning and pressure) to the mixing (not sure why- just works better) and the hyper-smooth trigger, I am sold. I don't mind the cleanup because it's easy. I don't mind loading other colors, because it seems easier. I just am more confident and even more willing to experiment. I'm not afraid to airbrush anymore. That was cool for me.

Does it all sound hokey? Sorry if it does, it is what it is.

Looks like I'm not the only one with problems. I had the same airbrush, with all the problems you're describing... :bandhead2: I love the Revolution CR.

  4. Having given up on my Paasche VL, I am now in the market for a new airbrush. I have only heard good things about the Iwata Revolution and HP-CS models. I have heard the same things about all Iwatas in general. I do not want to break the bank and the most I would spend would probably be around $120 if the HP-CS is worth it.

My only problem is that I have heard of people saying that the HP-CS is more for details whereas the Revolution can handle the larger parts that need to be painted. I mainly do 1:48 and 1:72 so I wouldn't need anything too big anyway. What do you guys think? Could the CS handle fuselage, wing paintjobs?

Let me know if you have any opinions on the Revolution vs the HP-CS.

    As always, thank you!

    Carlos

You can get pretty fine lines with the Revolution. I bought mine a few weeks ago, and I love it.

  5. Hi Rick,

Try this.....make your circle 200% (or more) larger than you need, the larger the cirlce the easier it will be to section it off the bigger it is.

With the super large circle section things off and determine where your eight points will be, then reduce the circle back down to the size you need.(by scanner or Kinkos)

Or download a simple CAD program and draw the circle that way and print...there will be a bit of a learning curve, but it will be more exact.

    Ryan

    Make a pattern...sounds good. :bandhead2:

  6. I am looking forward seeing 902 fly at MAKS. Also hoping they'll bring one of those brand new MiG-29SMTs from Algerian fiasco too.

The Algerian SMT is ugly, but the original SMT (917 Blue) is a much nicer looking plane with the better spine curve.

  7. Hi Robert,

Once you download the zip file, just double-click it (at least that's how it works on a Mac) to open the jpg archive.

Hope that works. If anyone knows about PC, please help.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I have a PC. I just download the file, right-click on the folder so the pop-up menu appears, and left-click the "Exract All" (or similar) command.

    - Brad

  8. Mike,

What do I need to open the zip file? I'm trying to open the 1/32 carrier deck but I'm having no luck.

    Thanks

    Robert

You should be able to right-click on the folder and hit the "Extract All" option. That's what I do, and it seems to work for me.

    Hope this helps,

    Brad

  9. Maybe these will help:

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for!!!!! I can't believe how good these drawings are! You just made my week!!!!

    Thank you so much!

  10. I was working on the C Hornet with just about every aftermarket stick you could put on it and saw the new paint on the VMFA(AW)-225 black bird. You just gotta love big black tails! Are the kits basically the same with the exception of the nose and basic parts. My question would better be can I use the fuselage I'm put so much time in and just stick the parts for the D kit on the nose?

    Randy

I don't see why not. I've built the C version myself. Did you build the cockpit yet?

    ; Brad

  11. Don't forget the F-16 main gear struts and wheels.

Right. I almost forgot that..... My X-29 is more a "What-if" version, so things like landing gear can be changed with a bit of artistic license.....

    Thanks,

    Brad :woot.gif:

  12. I've seen a number of cheap solutions, household silicone for molds, 5 min epoxy for the resin being fairly popular. These methods work fine for one off parts but can not compare to the quality you can get with actual casting silicone & resin.

That is true. Unfortunately, not everyone can justify the high cost.... :woot.gif:
