I think I might have that article...... Do you want me to see if I can fing it? - Brad :P

Rosin leaking? I use that kind of solder all the time without difficulty. I've never had that happen. :P - Brad

You are certainly right about practice. I shoot unthinned Modelmast Enamels at about 20 PSI with the Revolution CR, which is gravity-fed. It works very well....at least for me, anyway... - Brad

I talked to a guy at the hobby shop where I bought my Revolution CR. He used his to paint signs and other large things. I can't seak for the HP-CS, but I know the revolution CR can spray unthinned ModelMaster Enamels. I just started trying that. Mind you, I think the HP-CS has a finer nozzle, so you might run into problems. The Revolution CR is also gravity fed, so I think that helps. I don't remember about the HP-CS. Iwata does make great stuff! :P Best of luck! Brad

Byron makes a good point about cutting the pattern. Have you tried scaling up a pattern from the markings/paint section of the instruction book? Then you can make it more accurate. Sanding sticks are a great idea since your fingers are soft and conform to the bumps and irregularities, instead of removing them. It may help to prime the model first to check for issues such as the scribing problem. It may also help to buff the paint between and after colors so it becomes more regular and uniform. I hope this helps! I look forward to seeing the finished prodeuct! - Brad :)

Very cool! - Brad

F-5A/B/E/F drawings with section views appear to be rare as well...... :o - Brad

Unfortunately, I can't find the Hasegawa F-20 to save my life, and it's only in 1/48, not 1/32......I like the idea though....... Do you still have it? If yes, can you get some of the contours drawn and posted? That would be fantastic! Thanks for the info! - Brad

Indeed it is. I will build one eventually....after university, or when I find more space, whichever comes first....... - Brad

Sorry, I must have missed that. As I said, I'm no rivet counter, but I do notice major errors (ie intakes). Either way, your work continues to impress me! - Brad

Very good point. The X-29 that I'm going to build is a "what -if" production version. It will be based off the Kangnam (Hasegawa) F-5E, with sharknose. Where I really need help is the rear from the cockpit back. Brad

I'm praying that you find that! That would help me so much! I knew this forum would be helpful. It's nice to get some help from people who have more resources than me. Thanks so much, Brad

I've seen that one. It's better than most of the drawings I've seen. What I need are section views at different points along the fuselage, then I can make the right shape. - Brad

Those are the same drawings I found. They seem a bit vague and simplistic. I might make a CAD drawing and post it somewhere... - Brad

I think it looks cool. That's why I want to build one. - Brad

True, just like anything, it can not be taken as gospel. However, I did see the photos in the review, and the "corrected" Trumpeter parts look right to me.....but I am not a rivet counter. Although, even I new the single seat version had some problems, but as a highschool student, I lacked the funding to fix them... - Brad

The Two seat Flanker looks to be fixed after all the complaining. I don't have either the correction sets or two seat model in my possession, so I can't comment with absolute authority. Check Cybermodeler Online for this stuff. They reviewed the two-seater, and know of the accuracy stuff. - Brad

I've seen splinter camo Flankers that are late production 2 seaters. See Famous Russian Aircraft: Su-27. -Brad

I've built the single seater "as is" and I've looked at the review on Cybermodeler. Trumpeter seems to have corrected all the accuracy problems. So no, I don't think you need the correction sets. - Brad :)

Any chance at 1/32 CF-188 decals? I'd love to get my hands on some CF-188 dry-transfers. -Brad

AWESOME!!!!! Is anyone going to make a model of this thing? Can anyone make the new tail fins? If anyone wants clarification on the Su-27 versions, I suggest you get the book "Famous Russian Aircraft: Sukhoi Su-27" by Yefim Gordon. I have the book. It will make life much easier. Hope this helps anyone, Brad

Cool. I live in nothern CA outside of Sacramento. We get the odd C-5 going into Mather from Travis AFB. Are the C-5s there being upgraded as well? I'll keep my ears (and eyes) on alert. - Brad

Weird, yes. But also pathetic. And this is coming from a Canadian..... The Russians use their large transports as chartered aircraft for other countries. - Brad
