  1. Does anyone know a good match to the red that Leading Edge Decals use on their CF Dakota/Pinocchio markings? Got one on the go and it's time to paint. Thanks
  2. It's been a long time since I posted much here, but sometimes things happen that force you back to the computer. I met Russell Brown many years ago in Ontario, and have been buying modelling supplies from his AHS for a long time. This past week I was in Phoenix and finally got to meet up with him once again. We had a brilliant time discussing everything from models to flying, curling to the weather. A great guy to visit with. On top of that, he opened up his shop so I could indulge in some model spending. Russell was very generous with his time and hospitality. I only hope I don't have
  3. Finished this one a few weeks ago now. It's the Airfix kit along with Whishkey Jack decals and some minor additions.
  4. Howdy all. Any suggestions on who makes the best paint match to Alps Printer Gold? Thanks Massimo
  5. Thanks for the help guys. Some of those look very sharp. I will be hard limiting myself to just a few. Cheers
  6. A retired pilot friend has asked me for a couple of prints of airplanes he and I have flown. Anyone have any suggestions for a good source of airliner prints? Thanks.
  7. Thanks Jordy. Those look like they'll fit the bill. Cheers
  8. Hi guys Any suggestions on who makes runway and tarmac bases for displaying finished planes. I've seen some Noy's Miniatures, but I thought there was also a source for good 1/144 bases too. Thanks
  9. Last week's AMMS show in Calgary was another winner. The expansion to include all military subjects was a great idea and there were some great models on the table by folks from near and far. For sure I need to start planning for next year as the calibre of builds is high. Here's the first round of photos for you to enjoy. No doubt we'll see more. Cheers Massimo http://s526.photobucket.com/albums/cc349/dc10oiller/2011%20AMMS/
  10. Howdy all. The Alberta Military Model Show is only a few days away. It's this Saturday in fact. It promises to be a good one, but if you're not sure, check out their website and you'll be convinced. Not only do they have a great venue, but their selection of silent auction stuff is vast. Be sure to also go through the Updates for the latest info. See you there.
  11. Hey Everyone! I'd like to tell everyone about an upcoming model show this Fall: Here is the Alberta Military Modellers Show website. http://www.albertamilmodshow.ca This new show replaces the excellent Alberta AFV Modeller Show. The new show has it's roots in Armour Modelling, but this year on the 10 year anniversary it's expanding to include military ships, aircraft and figures. The more the merrier! The show will be held on September 17, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Military Museums in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. There will be more info added to the website over the next little
  12. Airline Hobby Supplies (AHS) is a good starting point and will have a good selection of just about everything you're looking for.. I've used Whiskey Jack decals often and they are top notch; grab which ever ones you can. There is also AHS's own in house range of decals. They will also have a good selection of PanAm markings, including some very nice ones from TwoSix, as well as PSA. There's also the Minicraft PSA kit available. Two Six Decals has CP Air DC-8 and Air Canada L1011 markings. They have recently released a new PWA 707 sheet so hopefully that means more PWA machines are on the
  13. Great looking T-Bird Tom! Can't wait to head down to Nanton to check it out.
  14. Thanks for the info everyone. I've got a good idea how to proceed now. And the info on the weapons load is great. :)
