twobobs replied to loftycomfort's topic in The Display Case
Man, great job on the weathering! Weathering black is always kinda dicey but you pulled it off excellently! -
Uh oh, this one's looking pretty scary... If you need some references pics as you get along, just let me know via E-mail Eric. Just reach out at modelbuilder@twobobs.net.

I'm not an airliner guy but man you guys gotta see this if you haven't seen it already. The most amazing diorama I've ever seen.... German Airport Diorama

Does flying for a job ever become "just work"?
twobobs replied to MattC's topic in General Discussion

Zactly Dave. French give a crap this go-round cuz they're a huge importer of Libyan oil.

Big deal, that happens on Eastbound and Down every episode..

It would take more than a couple of paragraphs to explain why. Pretty technical reasons for this that are proprietary in nature so I can't discuss on an open forum.

You and I have spoken before about this Jennings. Not disagreeing with you because we're all entitled to our opinions obviously. Microscale is light years ahead of where they were even 3 years ago. I order 500, I get 500. I split decals up because that's a personal choice, not because anyone at Microscale has ever told me, "dude I can't print that". While we did have incidents back when we started in 2001 that mirror what you're stating above, that was 2001. They've had the same guys "doing what they do" there for quite some time now and we haven't had a single issue with them from print

A major factor that needs to be taken into consideration when you're talking about how much "better" one printer is as opposed to the other is artwork. I can tell you 1st person that Microscale struggles a lot with artwork they receive that is completely unusable as far as being able to print. In many instances, companies who think they know the printing industry better than the actual printers wouldn't allow Microscale to tweak and adjust artwork to make their artwork print better. In those instances, Microscale prints what's given to them and when the decals print out of register or have

Will EADS protest the tanker contract decision?
twobobs replied to Kei Lau's topic in General Discussion
EADS has previously stated publicly that if they were to not win KC-X, they would NOT protest the decision. -
Dual award to keep everybody happy. Just as an FYI, there is a mountain of data that shows the EADS platform would have a much lower life-cycle cost (due to lower NRE and operating cost) than the Boeing product.

Legit.. That 167 pod is pretty nice. Got a couple of those laying around at work and you've captured the look just fine! Excellent weathering buddy!!
