  1. I'm out on this GB. Binned the Tempest after a few disasters decalling. First disaster was with the original kit decals, they looked like they were in good shape to use, just a few coats of microscale liquid decal film so the don't break up when I dip them in water. Well.... still broke apart, so moved onto my back up decals from an Airfix Tempest. Things were going ok until I used micro sol and then disaster! The micro sol dissolved my clear coat (Johnton's Kleer), maybe the clear coat was too thin, I don't know. The only way too save this one was to completly strip it back down to bare pla
  2. I purchased a Hobbycraft 1/48 Bf109G-10 and it is missing both landing gear legs, and it looks like Hobbycrafts customer service is non-existant. Soooo.... hoping that somebody has some spares that could use a good home.
  3. I have this same kit in the same state of completion, has been that way since the 1980s. I'll be watching this build, hopefully it will inspire me to finally finish it.
  4. I'm going to build this as a MiG-23MF of the IAF in Low-Vis grey, well thats the plan for now could change if I decide to be a little more adventurous with some camo.
  5. Started My MiG-23. So far just the main fuselage put together. I'm planning on just doing this one OOB, maybe.... just maybe do something with the cockpit, it's so plain and boring.
  6. I'm in with a Hasegawa Mig-23S and maybe a Mig-25
  7. Getting close to finishing the Tempest. Should be decaling it soon.
  8. I finally have the first coat of colour on the Tempest, pics coming soon. The Wellington is started and in keeping with the GB theme of being a quick build I'm going to use the Vinatge Matchbox kit and decals, and use the wings from my replacement Revell kit, so the model will be more Matchbox than Revell repop, and build it like I would have done 25-30 years ago.
  9. Neo, I have done that in the past when a kit has been reissued and Im missing parts in an original, ya so I will be doing it with revell for both my Wellingtons so I can have complete kits..... just not going to mention that one is ancient , and I'm not going to beg.... maybe demand :) Anyways.... my local model shop came through with a replacement Wellington for me, pays to be a frequent customer, everyday 5 maybe 6 days a week. So on with building a Wellington
  10. Thanks for the comments HÃ¥kan & Neo Well does'nt look like I'm meant to build a Wellington, I was looking through my stash of unbuilt kits and found an original vintage Matchbox Wellington still sealed in cellophane and slightly crushed box. Opened it up to start and...... bugger.... duped by an ebay seller from years ago. Missing both complete wings!!! Now if Wellingtons weren't meant to have wings I would be all set to go. Did learn one important thing..... always check ebay purchases right away, not 5 years later :)
  11. Have put a couple coats of primer on the Tempest, should have the first coats of camo soon. I hope to finish the Tempest in the next few days, then on to the Wellington.
  12. this pic is of the molding issues I've come across in my Wellington kit. the plastic has blisters in it, like air bubbles, and the plastic peels away like paint. I had to cut away the bubbled wing surfaces and fill the depressions, lost most of the surface detail. Looks like this kit is getting binned unless revell Germany comes through with new upper wings, hopefully they arrive in the four weeks that customer service said it should be, would still give me time to finish for the GB.
  13. Started both the Wellington and Tempest. Tempest is nearing completion, while the Wellington has some molding issues to take care of before any major work commences. I was going to give up on the Wellington, but thought I may as well finish it, I'm just going to finish it similar to the one I built about 30 years ago.
  14. I have to get in on this GB, I'll be putting together the Revell re-box of the Vicker Wellington, and Matchbox Hawker Tempest
