Ah yes, the path to the perfect model is strewn with lots of pebbles and boulders.... And a few cactuses.... Bryan -
At roughly 1/3 the cost up front, they are very nice representations of the mid date Mk.H5 seat with the larger back pad. Should you want to update the Mk.H5 to the early version.... 🙂

Very nice representation of an early Navy/USMC Mk.H 5seat. Bit spendy though....

A few more shots...

F4H-1, F-4 Ejection seats. Admittedly this topic should have it’s own forum section, but…. I’ve been somewhat hesitant to drop this article as there is likely someone who is going to scream: You forgot the reverse underwater wiferdill model!!!! Are a few points missing, absolutely. But this is likely going to be the most comprehensive article on Martin-Baker Mk.H5 seats for all users. For the modeler this is likely not a major point, but it is if you want to do a truly accurate cockpit. A fair number of aftermarket companies offer “Phantom” seats, but the

Not sure, the long wing birds had 27' and 32' wings. I think those are the short wing birds. -

One often overlooked tid bit, at least on the testers kit, is the engine nacelles extend back to the flaps on the No. 1 & 4 engines on the C-130A. There is a bump out or whatever on the flap it's self. I think this was eliminated on later variants, but I don't know C-130E & H airframes. If you do a DC-130A you will have to address this, if you want an accurate AC.... These shots were taken by me at Mitchel Feild in Milwaukee, July 1971 of 57-0470. You can clearly see the remnants of the sealed forward cargo door that turned out to be such an incredibly BAD i -

Dutch, look at the props. The DC-130A has the nonstandard pylons. The DC-130H in the background has the saw tooth notch what every you choose to call it, pylons. In the shot with the two noses look at the camo pattern on the nose, the bird to the left is DC-130A 56-0527, the same as the nose on shot... -

Pretty good! Just have to make sure they are the right pylons; Rob has some great info on them. Although the DC-130A I'm looking at doing has nonstandard pylons........ Bryan -
Thanks, appreciate it! Bryan

I ran across these mixed in with the National Museum of Naval Aviation. The all red bird has interesting wing tips. It's also the only one with a BuNo. B ut not sure if 79120 is accurate. Not an expert on F6F's. There are some sort of markings on the upper tails bot the row of birds, but can't make it out. Thanks in advance! Bryan

I know the focus of Cacal are mostly Post WW II jets, but these are just strange enough to may be of interest... Only one has a BuNo, and that one doesn't seem to be right. All red with interesting wing tips. There are some sort of markings on the upper tails bot the row of birds, but can't make it out. Not that up on F6F's...

And another one with a decidedly small pilot... Should you ever decide to do an Aggressor/Adversary A-4 sheet to complement the E/F sheet you did. I would love to get markings for this bird. Sometimes the background is more interesting that the subject. In this case on the O-2's in the background, was not aware the Navy flew those in any capacity. It would be a nightmare to paint, but an eye opener. A-4E 149977 AD-615 VF-45 1987-1993 National Museum of Naval Aviation record No A-1620, 1625, 1626, 1627

Thanks Gregg! I have a whole lot more, but I've been working on an article for the Phantom II, F4H-1, 4A, 4B, 4J/s, 4C, 4D, 4E/G, Brit and German birds along with a few others.... This was kicked off by the F-4B shots with Mk.H5 and Mk.H7 seats. I've been wanting to do it, but it is a bit of a mess with all the major and sub variants. I have far more information on the Navy/USN seats than I do the Air Force seats timeline wise. The thread I'm using for Jet Bang Seats is: Jet AC ejection seats - Jet Modeling - ARC Discussion Forums (arcforums.com)
