  1. Hi Guys Here´s my latest project to enter the bench. The old Airfix 1/72 Messerschmitt Bf-109 K-4, in the livery of Lt. Gunther Landt. The decals will be from the spare box. Overall the kit is a bit rude, it´s from the 70´s, but with a bit of work I think it´s not all that bad representing the K-4s. Wings, rudder and stabs had to be sanded to the correct shape as they were a bit too "square". I added some extra detail and also I´ve been trying some new things with pastels and painting over them with nice results. Now I´m going to finish up the paint job and move along to t

Here´s a extra photo of the left skid repaired. I completely missed it during the build. Unforgiven! Best regards Filipe
  3. Hi Guys Here´s another one on the bench, part of the portuguese GB - Grumman Cats - at modelismo-na.net, check it out. Eduard 1/48 Grumman Hellcat MK.II FAA 1945. The livery I will do is of Sub-Lieutenant Oscar Lorenzo, with the patoruzo on the right side of the engine cooler. For now the cockpit is ready, the engine is still lacking some pastels and I´m getting things ready to close the fuselage. To be continued! Hope you enjoy Feel free to coment! Best regards Filipe

  6. Hi Guys First of all thank you very much Bob for your kind emails, they ere a big help, like we talked, unfortunately no badge on the doors, the provided decals were gigantic and I had no suitable replacement on the spares! Here is an update on the Huey, major painting done. I used vallejos, the white/dark green as is and the light green/brown are homemade. I also finished the hook on the hellhole and added an extra "box" in the cabin filled with lead weights to secure a more stable position. Impressive the amount of weights this build includes, I also marked the avionics bay in on the no
  7. Hi Guys Thank you very much to all for the support. Everett, the wires are electrical. I strip the wire down from its plastic cover and take 3, 4, 5, depending of what I´m looking for, of the tiny metallic "strings" inside and twist them around with a par of tweezers until they are to my liking. Austin, I cant remember anymore where I got it, but its generic electrical wire. You can find it, ´m sure, in any hardware store. If you want I can take a pic of it? Very interesting Ray, thanks for sharing! That's probably why these Tango didn't see many action. From what I have been reading t
  8. Hi Guys With the Huey almost ready, here´s the latest one on the bench! Italeri 1/72 AH-1T+ Sea Cobra USMC. I have added some extra details to the cockpit, wings and weapons. I´ve also corrected the wing alignment to the fuselage, it should be 90º not with diedro as Italeri renders. All was made from evergreen, wires, tin foil from wine bottles and parts from the spars box. I´m goinf to use for armament the nose gun and 2 sidearms on the outer pylons. The canopy doesent fit all that well in the fuselage so I corrected it with evergreen. Now I´m going to sand the cockpit one last time,

  11. Hi Guys Thanks for the support Ray, Tank and Alexander. Alexander I have in the stash, in 1/35, a Huey and a Little Bird, but I will not tackle them anytime soon. But they are not forgotten :) For now I´m going to continue the Huey F in 1/72 and maybe start a Sea Cobra in the same scale! I find these 1/72 little helis something special. Gotta love them :) Best regards Filipe
  12. Hi Guys Thanks for the support Edgar, Arnaud and Bob. Thanks again Edgar! Arnaud, both textures were made from aluminium foil. The floor from the top cover of a pack Philadelphia cheese and the wall from aluminium tape used in air conditioners tubing rolled with the x-acto handle to gain the squary texture. If you like I can take some pics of it. Bob thanks again for the email, nothing like flying it :) Best regards Filipe
