  1. Hey bbill. This model really looks great so far. :) I'm building the revell one in 1/48 and am having color troubles. :) Which color did you use in the cockpit? The kit instructions say flat ovlive drab but it doesn't look right to me. :-/ Know it's a while since you were done with the cockpit. Hehe.
  2. Finally a proper Prowler in 1/48. Well, Raymond, you just get it in store, and I´ll order it from ya! :)
  3. Thanks, HTH/Jackman!!! I didn´t think about youtube at all when it comes to references. That´ll be enough research on that matter for now. The next step will be to try and find a book on the subject so I can get the correct tailnumber and markings. On the F-4E that is. A T-33 for the UFO? Hm, what if I get too close to the truth with that. Maybe something like "The Pelican Brief" will happen to me. Hehehe.
  4. Fish, I´ll just stick to making the plane. I do have a feeling you´re onto something about the MiG-25. I did know about those decals by the way. They look great, and I´m sure I have to get several of them in order to make the UFO-chaser.
  5. This I think ought to be a hard nut to crack. Here in Norway, a couple of IPMS members are going to model Iranian subjects (why? I have no idea, but it sounds fun) and it made me remember something about a UFO chase. For once my memory served me right, and I found out that two F-4 Phantom IIs were scrambled from Shahrokhi Air Force Base in Hamadan for interception. This happend in September of 1976. I´ve also found out that Iran had both the F-4D and E Phantom IIs at the time but not which ones were stationed at Shahrokhi. Does anyone have any info on that or on Iranian F-4s in general that
  6. What a nice model!! My company used to have one of those planes waaaaaaaay before my time, but it would be nice to build one one day. Thanks for the inspiration! Great work, Frank! I always like something a little different!

    Bad News

So sad that your friend passed away. You have my deepest condolances. I looked through his work, and I must say it was very eclectic and interesting indeed. I didn´t know your friend, but judging from his work, he was the kind of modeler that most of us would like to be. I´ll definitively tru and look for pictures of his work on the net now. Thanks for sharing this with us, patnab. Kosti
  8. Andre: I built the Haseagawa 1/48 kit. it´s really great and well made. I think the surface detail is really good. The cockpit is also good, being a standard out-og-box cockpit. I also liked the radio stack. I highly recommend this kit if you plan to build one yourself. Hal: Thanks for the info. I´m equally impressed every time people like you tell me about the history of the type of aircraft in question that I was completely unaware of. It really brings more domension and depth to the hobby.
  9. As promised, here comes a few shots of the Stuka I made. I just returned from the IPMS competition here in Norway, but alas, I returned without any prizes. But I got to buy lots af model kits, see lots of people and learn about tehniques new to me as well and learn to know new people. I think that was the greatest prize of all. Happy modelling everyone!
  10. That was very much what I was looking for. Thanks again, Greg! That website will be bookmarked for future reference. ;)
  11. Thanks a lot, Greg. That top one is more what I´m looking for. I guess I´ll do ok if I can just keep the motling on the top of the wings as spaced and random as on the fuselage. I´ll post a picture here in the thread when I´m finished. Again, thank you!
  12. Hi there, Luftwaffe afficionados. I´m currently building a Ju-87B-2 Stuka from Northern Africa, 1943, 1./StG 3. I know this machine was mottled much like some desert painted Bf-109s and Focke Wulfs. I haven´t been able to get hold of any pictures of the overside of the wings of this aircraft. Any of you got any th

  14. How about those pics, volzj? :)
  15. I´d say, get something from Eduard. Especially the 1/48 Hellcat kit, or the reboxed Taifun. :D Oh wait. this is the jet modelling part of the forum. Disregard everything.
