  1. Very impressive build of a super cool bird, thanks for sharing! Arnaud
  2. The original question specified "without aftermarket" but if we go there, BAM Models do seamless intakes (both Triple Plow I and Triple Plow II) and the Australian reconnaissance package that was used on the RF-111C πŸ˜‰
  3. Most of us have Hasegawa Phantoms in the stash. While they are still great kits, the lack of proper intakes is a serious letdown in comparison with the recent Meng and ZM kits. I thus thought it would be useful to design an affordable fix BAM48102 allows you to add full depth intakes to ANY Hasegawa Phantom II kit: F-4B, F-4C, F-4D, F-4E, F-4G, F-4J, F-4EJ, F-4N, F-4S, RF-4C, RF-4E, RF-4EJ, FG Mk.1, FGR.2, etc..., anything that uses sprue D, including the Revell reboxes of course A tiny amount of blending with parts D31 an
  4. Cool! Does the Hamilton Hobbies set include the new landing gear? Just out of curiosity 😎
  5. Excellent news, looking forward to seeing the RF-4C Recce Phantoms Part 1 schemes πŸ˜‰ Arnaud
  6. The Airfix Sea King detail sets are now officially released! and available here!
  7. It's simply a matter of development cost vs expected volume. The ECM bulges took less time than the intakes to design but sell much, much less (as expected since the intakes fit most F-111 variants). That being said I look forward to seeing accurate Ravens! Arnaud
  8. The first link @Quixote74 gave is my go-to source of detail Raven pictures πŸ‘ If you're building a 1/48 Raven this might be of interest to you as all available kits have the standard F-111 aft bulges πŸ˜‰ https://bam-models.com/product/ef-111a-raven-ecm-cooling-units-for-hobby-boss/ HB kit bulge: BAM Raven bulge:
  9. Thanks, I've been through all of them + the Double Ugly and Isradecal books, no luck so far πŸ˜• which is why I'm bothering y'all and asking for help πŸ™‚ Arnaud
  10. Hello, Would anyone have either detail pictures of the Kurnass 2000 wingtip area (esp. the RWR) or access to the ones exposed in museum (IAF museum and Tel Nof as far as I know)? Many, many thanks in advance, Arnaud
  11. Nice work, thanks for sharing your progress with us! Arnaud
  12. Very nice work as usual Jeff πŸ‘ Arnaud
  13. Beautiful paint work, it would be great to have a way to see them once completed indeed!
  14. The Eduard kit, as far as I know, uses the Academy plastic not Hasegawa
  15. The Academy Eagle is the weakest offering out there: Hasegawa and GWH are much better, each in a different way. The Academy Eagle has a weird overall shape in my opinion (I have all three)
  16. The Super MystΓ¨re B2 exhaust is released for the 1/48 FRROM/Azur kit πŸ˜‰
  17. This is the TP2 set released end of July. I had only announced it on FB so just in case fans of the later Aardvarks were not aware this was available too πŸ˜‰
  18. The Triple Plow II seamless (and with detailed inside) intakes are released! Also, the new Super Mystère B2 kit from FRROM/Special Hobby is very nice, and a welcome addition to the range. I've been busy working on a much better-detailed exhaust as well as a seamless intake, which are both nearly ready now
  19. I understand this, and I understand it's difficult to estimate shipping for a brand new product they never had before. What I don't understand is why it is not possible to get a shipping estimate for a 30+ year-old Hasegawa kit they must have sold hundreds of in the past decades.
  20. Another weird thing with HLJ P&P is that when I order something that appears "In stock - 3-5 days" I am only given the option to put it in the "Private Warehouse" and no shipping estimate is provided. The item is not charged right away but will be charged once available, BEFORE I know and agree with the shipping costs. Do others have the same problem or did I miss something (which is very possible!)? I'm a bit reluctant to place an order not knowing how much shipping will cost obviously! Thanks, Arnaud

    YF-23

I made every possible effort for the set to be as user-friendly as possible, and most corrections would be quite tricky to scratch (at least for my limited scratchbuilding skills), especially making flush vents. Cutting guides are provided and there is some margin between the vents themselves and the border of the insert so you don't risk to damage the detail when filling the gap. On top of this side of things, the PAV-1 nozzles are quite different from what the kit offers and that would be very hard to scratchbuild in my humble opinion. That being said, this is obvious

    YF-23

That's a stunning YF-23 cockpit @paulsbrown!! @Curt B I developped two update/conversion sets some time ago, they might be of interest to you to either convert the HB kit to PAV-1 (especially the nozzles) or keep it as PAV-2 but improve it, especially the numerous vents: https://bam-models.com/product-category/yf-23/
