  1. I was 10 when the Edmund Fitzgerald went down. Growing up close to the Welland canal I had the opportunity to watch the huge lakers going through the locks on many occasions. Always amazed me how they could navigate through the canal system with such precision.
  2. Thanks for posting the link. I grew up in Niagara Falls and can say I have never seen them like that.
  3. I think it is fascinating to have the honor of hearing a story like the USS Indianapolis first hand from someone that was there. It's sad that we are loosing so many veterans of WWII daily. Soon we will not be able to hear the stories first hand from true heroes like him.
  4. Thanks for including me into the open wheel racing group build. I picked this kit up at a show for $10 without the box. It's been sitting in my to build stack for quite some time now so when I saw this group build I knew this was the kit I wanted to do. The kit itself is made by revell. The kit comes with 2 sets of tires (Rain & Slick) and 2 sets of wings (Road & Speedway). I haven't decided which way I will go with this kit yet. A disappointment I have with the kit is the lack of engine. It is just a curbside kit so all my effort will be focused on the exterior of the car. Here is
  5. If it isn't to late I would like to join in on this build. I have a couple of builds I would like to do but I will start with: Rob
  6. Sorry I didn't reply earlier. It's been a crazy busy week. I'll look through what I have to see if I have anything that will work. I don't use the stock wheels often so I am thinking I may have something that will work for you. Send me a PM with your address so I can send them out to you. It might be next week when I get a chance to look, we are off to a wedding this weekend. Take care, Rob
  7. Great job building your B-17. I went back through your WIP and had some good laughs with Yoda. Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I'm looking forward to seeing your next build. Rob
  8. Sorry to hear about your loss Terry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rob
  9. Hi there, Did you find the tires you were looking for? I maybe able to help you out with this. Can you post a picture of the kit box? Rob
  10. Welcome to ARC Enrico! Nice to have you aboard. Rob
  11. 10 years sure fly by quickly. Congratulations.
  12. Coooolllll!!!! A Jolly Rogers Phantom!! :monkeydance:/>/>
  13. Hi all, I am currently building the Revell F-15E and wondering if I should/need to add wieght to the nose to avoid a tail sitter? Thanks in advance. Rob
  14. Rain, you make a very good point here. We put our trust into people around us everyday only to get burned by lies from time to time. Why would anyone be surprised that LA did the same thing to his peers and fans? Why are we even giving this guy a chance to stand on his soap box to tell us he did use enhancing drugs? We already know this. I am sure his interview with Oprah contained more lies about why he did, that others did it, and who knows what else. This is his opportunity to cash in on his dishonesty.
  15. Me too! I have been locking for an excuse to build this one.
  16. Your off to a great start. Looking forward to an update. Rob
  17. I never thought I would say I don't care if the NHL comes back. I don't have emapthy for these overpaid multi millionaires. I have watched the price of tickets go from a reasonable night out for a family to being unafordable for the average guy. As far as I am concerned they can keep their over priced beer, peanuts, and tickets. It's time to knock them down a notch and get back to the real world.
  18. Revell P-47D razorback. Little Chief Thanks for looking. Rob
  19. The P-47 is now complete. Mostly OOB with the exception of metal guns and pitot tube. This was a fun project to do. Now back to the P-40.
  20. I got a lot more done on the P-47 today. I guess I spoke to soon regarding the decals. Once I got to the stencils they just started falling apart. Oh well, I'll get over it. I was able to get one of them on. Everything is ready to the point I'll remove the canopy masking tomorrow after everything has had the night to dry.
  21. I usually find tools and large parts like this right in front of me after searching for hours. Just me I am sure.
  22. Thanks for the tip Adam. I'll look into that.
  23. When I saw the give aways I felt the same as Aaron. I really don't need anything and can buy what I do need. I for one think it is very generous of you to provide kits in pay for shipping to members here. I can undrestand why you would restict it to the lower 48 with the cost to ship anything today. Don't let them get you down Sean. There are people like this on every forum who have nothing better to do than to cause trouble. Rob
  24. After trying additional coats of EZ-Mask and painters tape with no success I decided to soak it in warm water. This worked like a charm. The EZ-Mask peeled away very easily. Phew, I thought this project was going into the circular file. :( I brought this issue up with the boys at the local hobby shop and one of my fellow modellers ran into the same issue when he used an older bottle of EZ-mask. This bottle I have is several years old so I would suspect that is what caused the issue. I am a little gun shy to ty this again but would love to hear if anyone else has had issues or success wit
