  1. Well after a 2010 marked by mini strokes and mild heart attacks - I'm back again to bother you all. Thanks to some nifty surgery, and an all new (read experimental) pacemaker/defibrillator, nobody is sure it's going to work, but it could do and so was worth the risk. On the plus side I had a couple of nurses who looked like they had come of the set of one of those ERM.. more adult films and that kept my blood pressure ticking along nicely. So physically I have come through pretty lightly, although the damage to the heart muscle cannot be repaired Mentally is another matter there are larg
  2. LOL Tony we have the aircraft already its the all new completely invisible. even to the naked eye, ones (6th generation of course). A bargain at 12 billion each You can sell the MoD anything these days. The carriers are part of a crafty time share plan to draw in even more money from the EU. Seriously - when are contractors going to stop telling DoD and MoD what they want and think of the country's defence instead? Ajed1
  3. Looking for information , photos, leads etc for 602nd Special Operations Squadron, based at Nahkon Phanom (NKP), Thailand. Any help will be gratefully received.
  4. Thank you very much Viper 50, sorry I did not reply sooner. I have had a bit of a job firming up details but now I know a lot more. 602nd SOS (ex 602nd ACS/Fighter Squadron (Commando) based at Nahkon Phanom (NKP), Thailand. is what I'm looking for. Yes the Revell/Monogram kits is a little dated but as it will be my first build in 30plus years I am bound to mess it up, and its cheap enough to be a throw away if I do :D The Tamiya Skyraider can come later as I gain confidence and learn all these new skills. Thank you for the link I have no idea how to earch for stuff like that -another th
  5. As a complete novice I can't really comment BUT I will say that watching you overcome problems as they arise is adding vastly to my understanding of "how to do". Please continue the good work - I have so much to learn about modern methods. Thank You Ajed1 Who Dares Wins
  6. In a word - gobsmacked Thank you Mark for letting us see this masterpiece' Ajed1 Who Dares Wins
  7. This one is a little hard to answer - I'm still bound by the OSA. Lets just say that in another life at another time I was very familiar with the Herefordshire countryside and leave it at that. Sorry can't expand on that. Ajed1 Who Dares Wins
  8. The first 65 years are the worse after that its a doddle. Ajed1 Who Dare Wins
  9. Well I took a stab at it and it worked. Yay My first overseas buy ever. Thank you for shopping at Sprue Brothers Models LLC! We are happy to report that your order, shipped on 10/21/2009. Xuron 2175ET Professional Sprue Cutter #90317 Now you have created a monster smile.gif Does a happy bunny dance. OK so it took me all day to work out how to do it - but it was well worth the time. A big "Thank You" to everyone who has helped and encouraged so far. I wouldn't have got this far without that. All the information has been collated and filed for further usage. Ajed1 Who Dares Wins

  11. Thanks everyone for the replies they have all been useful. Xuron Model 2175ET Professional Sprue Cutter - these I like are they available in the UK? Pnavise -wow what a system - but again available in the UK? I have never brought from anywhere outside the UK so am a bit scared about this - how safe is it? OK all you youngsters ( that's anyone younger than me ) can stop falling about laughing now it seems to be commonplace nowadays. But for now I'll stick to what I know. One again thanks for the replies so far --keep them coming folks Ajed1
  12. Hi Everyone. OK with everyone's encouragement I am gonna return to building again. A kit has been chosen and is hopefully on its way as I type this. It will be an OOB build, just to get me started again and I'll see how that goes. Now the problems start - I have a toolkit, well a sort of a toolkit from the 60's through 70's and by today's standards its very basic. So a little help here please. I have looked through this forum and I don't know what half these things are, or indeed who to use them. There are glues I've never heard of etc. I come from the era of tube glue, wooden pegs and

    !/48 Revell Spad

Woops me bad Yes the A-1H Skyraider is the aircraft in question. Sorry about that. The exact scale doesn't matter (Heresy these days) but this was the last model I built 30 years ago -- and seemed like a good place to start again. Ajed1
  14. Revell (Monagram) 1/48 A-1H Skyraider Now why the Skyraider? Well when i was in 'Nam these guys flew cover for us on a number of missions and helped save my butt. Now the next problem - The Kit is old and therefore will not be up to the modern high standards also it is the Navy version, not the USAF version that I'd like to build. so will need a far bit ofr work. Since the missions were "We were never there" types, I think they call that Black nowadays, any ideas where I could find information on the Squadrons that flew them? 602nd SOS call sign Fireflys or Sandys spring to mind but the m
