  1. A Dakota is a real classic airplane! I like it! Actually building on in 1/48 Monogram. But I prefer postwar Daks and something else than olive drab. So now it will be an indonesian one. You will get my attention when you think about non-USAF Dakotas in 1/48. 1/72 is simply too small for me 😉 But after releasing a 72 sheet, think about a 48 sheet. Revell released the AC-47 lately and it is a good base for a transporter, too. Especially they added a new sprue (ofc. with the gunship add-ons) AND the late style props!! No need to butcher a Monogram B-17 for props anymore, hehe.
  2. Good job! I start to like the Euro1 camo A-10 more and more. I remember my teenage years to see them flying low level over my hometown and they had that special whisteling sound. Meanwhile I know that most of them came from GAF airfield Leipheim. So it was a bit special to the 81st TFW that time: 2 sqn belonged to the 2nd detachment in Germany. From April 1, 1979 to end of 1988 the 92nd TFS was in the detachment and after that until sept. 25, 1992 the 91st TFS. It was a rotation. Always a third of the sqn was in south Germany. Anybody knows what was the job of the 78th bushmasters in Woo
  3. Good to hear, Ed! I am sure you can make a nice Nesher out of that Kinetic kit! There is still some AM out that can improve your project. If you like, I can make a scan of the Wingman Nesher kit for you. So you have some ideas what is replaced by resin etc.
  4. So I got email today that the Tornado decals are available again!! Go n get em!
  5. The camo of the JASDF CH-47J looks so good! Now we need decals incl. japanese stencils
  6. I look for some small parts for the Monogram /Revell C-47 (DC-3): Nr. 37 (pilot steering), 83 and 97 (Glasparts for landing lights, 87 (round upper window over radio compartment), 35 (over head IP), 9 (Antenna?), 73 (wall of radio compartment), 80 (for landing gear), and the seats 70 and 72 (nice to have but not really needed).Hope someone has those parts left over or an incomplete Dakota kit!?
  7. Here the latest news I got in facebook from Wingman: Dear friends and fellow model makers! Again we will be attending Scale Modelworld at Telford/UK on November 10 and 11 of this year. As usuall we are looking very much forward to seeing you in person. One of our high-lights is the re-release of our long sold-out kits WMK48001 Latin American Kfir and WMK480014 Belgian Mirage 5BA/BR, both in 1/48 scale. We revised the cockpit section of the Kfir by dividing it into two pieces (cockpit tub and separate front landing gear bay). In addition we reworked the nose and inclu
  8. I am so sorry to tell that the Nesher and Tornado decals are completely sold out! So I just can wish good luck fishing in evil bay etc.
  9. In the box is the old and bad (poor detail and wrong shape) Italeri F-16 kit. But that black-yellow scheme is stunning! My friend did taht kit many years ago, he reported that the nose gear is wrong and the decals made some problems, too. If you want to know details, I have to ask him.
  10. I have good connections to Wingman. Maybe there is still one hidden in a rack!?
  11. Should I ask for there? But shipping will be from Germany.
  12. Why not build the streak with closed canopy? Dullcoat looks good!
  13. There are really not much stencil decals. Wether Mongram forgot some or it did not exist on the camo USAF streak. I remember, I took a Icarus sheet only for stencils for the greek streak and I was more busy with the decaling job. Your piant job looks good! But you can really say that once matt coated.
  14. Just because we talked about it before and to put an info here: intakes for the F-5 from AFV Club are coming! Mike is working on it. PhaseHangar Resin F-5 intake prototype
  15. Revell 150 is ok, I have it too and also the RAL5012 from Elita Life color - is the same color. Take it...
  16. Hi Ioannis! What about a HAF A-7 under the skin book? I think I would miss it already!
  17. No real idea, but try RAL 7035 and add some white. Revell 371 or Humbrol 196 is 7035.
  18. I agree, the NATO black is fine for that. Similar to Revell 9 anthracite grey, my wonder weapon for IPs, tires, boots...all what is black but a bit faded.
  19. Acrylic paint like Tamiya or Gunze are not my friends for handbrushing. Prefer good old enamel (esp. for small detail) or the Revell aquacolor (can be diluted with pure water!) But your IP looks good already! Also thanks to the perfectly and sharp casted instruments.
  20. Oh sorry, I told you nonsense: There is no intakes in resin from KASL. Seams something made me confuse yday.
  21. True, the yellow - almost creme white line is the sealing for the clear pexiglas to the metal frames. On some aircrafts it is also outside. But for us modellers: there is a smal visible frame to see. Due to the very thick clear plastic (thickness it is not in scale) one has to cheat a bit. Easiest way is to paint it outside or - better - use decals. When you apply them in the inside, I am not sure how it will look like. For the intake I agree. But the F-5 intakes are quite small and you have to look inside exactly from the front and using a torch, like a cave explorer. If you want
  22. Ohh I forgot to mention 2 chead and (meanwhile for me) important add-ons: Canopy framing decals For my next F-5 I will take the set! Before I did masking and mixing the pale light yellow color. But there are always touch ups to so, mixing other color shade, screwing up some detail near, etc. Even the lines for the framing is already on the clear parts, they are not precise. and pitot tube (unless you have a AFV box including a metal pitot tube)
  23. Maybe it is the perspective of the pic...but it looks like the camo Tiger has an up pointing nose!? What a snobbish bad guy!
  24. So how was your morning? Ah, hehe, you might be still sleeping as it was my morning right now. OK, have a coffee (bio and fair trade!) and have a look. You will try black priming this time? I have never done it, unless for shiny alclad.
  25. That looks busy good! You will see, once the black/darkgrey paint is on it will be fine. Be careful with the true details pylon set: I already bought 2 sets in the past and both were crap. bad casting quality as the molds gone down the jordan - means the still use worn out damaged molds. That what it looked to me and so I never use that set. Check the EDU wheels, they might be too small! It happened to my friend with his RF-4E (you remember the RF in the modern Luftwaffe GB?). When possible I prefer Royal Resin wheels. Your chopper seams to be a real good tool!! like it
