Beautiful one, congrats on a excellent job, i am starting my alaska splinter aggressor, Jorge
-
Thanks, yes, that was the hardest part of the scheme, but at the end it finally turned out ok Jorge
-
Thanks Joel, i finally took seriously the hobby again this year, las year i did just two models, this year so far i am finishing the second Adversary and i will start the third one next week. Jorge
-
too bad, loved to see one with this colors, the only F-15 in splinter camo is the blue one, is in my list of to do after the 3 vipers Jorge
-
Darren, i have bought plenty of your stuff, they are excellent products, if i have to use masks i prefer to use the ones made with Kabuki tape rather than vinyl mask, the vinyl masks always shrink in time.
-
Thanks to you all for the kind words about this Hornet Jorge
-
Darren, i know about the masks, but at the end with tamiya tape you get the same result and cheaper thanks, my eyes are square after it was done t,but kind of like it, right know i am working on another splinter plane

After loosing my collection of Aggressors due to a display case accident , i decided to start a new series of modern aggressors in splinter camouflage. Starting with this one, Hasegawa 1/48 F-18, OOB built and Furbal's decals and many tamiya's tape rolls. Jorge Oppenheimer some detail of the top weathering

Thanks Joel, I didn’t know about using some dish soap and the warm water, every day you learn something new, i will try it on the model that is on the bench right now Jorge
-
Be careful with furball’s decals, they are really thin, and when you use the decal set solution careful with it, cause they turn really fragile, after using the decal solution dont even try to touch them or you will get into big trouble the only decals i used from the tamiya sheet were the NO STEP stencils jorge
-
Hi George, i didn’t use the kit decals, never liked tamiya’s decals, they are thick, i used Furball decals, about the gloss finish for the decals, also didn’t use any, the satin finish of MRP paints is perfect for the decals to set without any silvering effect Jorge

Hi Jan, i didn't do the base, i bought it from i guy in Italy, his name is Mario Catania, he has a facebook page, 3D bases by Mario Catania, he does an excellent job, i got 3 bases from him Jorge

Hi Joel, thanks, i did use AK panel line wash grime color, is a mix of brown and gray, as always i dont like to use black wash for the panel lines, to much contrast with light colors, on the bottom side i used a Ak filter called yellow gray for white on all the panel lines jorge

Hello all, this is my latest build, amazing model and fitting, i used MRP paints on all the model, the seats are from Eduard, the rest of the build is OOB

My question about FS17875 is because this FS color is a yellowish white compared to pure white, and i was wondering if is aplicable to this era tomcat
-
\Hi to you all, i am building tamiya's F-14A, i am on hold because i have a doubt about colors, some pages refer as gloss white for the underside and control surfaces, and other ones says to use U.S Navy White FS 17875 for the same areas, wich one will be the correct ?? Best regards Jorge Oppenheimer

as you can see in this picture, the resin plug wont get to the wing, is just the hole nose section and the fitting to the fuselage is acceptable , just some cyano to fill the gap of the two pieces
-
sorry this are the only pictures i took

Hi everyone, here is my latest model, this one is the Tamiya P-51D kit in 1/32 scale with the resin kit from Resin 2 Detail, I loved this plane since i saw the picture in 1980, only one Prototype was built by the Cavalier Group, it have a Rolls Royce Dart turbo prop on board, it was modified from a P-51K as a COIN airplane hooping the USAF will buy it in 1969. To bad that the USAF never got any interest on this ugly duckling. Here is my recreation of the first and only prototype. Jorge

I am moving to the next area, the nose plug, first i drilled the center section of the nose plug to reduce the weight of it The fitting of the nose was quite simple and forward, very nice fitting and simple work of filling to remove the joint of the plastic and resin -

Let the surgery begin, i started with the belly radiator inlet, it is history now, thougt it will be difficult, it turns out it was a simple task and here is the resin plug for the belly to replace the missing radiator inlet Some update, started to fit the flat resin belly plug to eliminate the radiator inlet, the fiiting of this piece was not the best, the resin plug was warped and the resin didnt went all the way in the mold, as you can see in the picture how the fitting was, had to cut the plug in order to make it fit the fuselage better af -

ok, so i call it done the interior, here are some pictures, also i did some tryouts on the fitting of the resin nose, and for now this is what i can say, the fitting let a lot to be desired, the resin nose is wider than the fuselage, about 1mm on each side of the fuselage, i dont know yet how i will approach this issue, tomorrow i will post a picture of the problem, so you guys can give me ideas on how to address that problem -
dont know about the $400 a year, but they charge me $ 44 a year for 21GB of space, and that is plenty space for my needs.
