  1. Well going backwards, and this is my second attemp on modelling. It is Tamiya's P-47D and i tried to replicate the aircraft that a Greek American, Spiros Pisanos used to fly with. Spiros Pisanos was a Greek immigrant to USA and flew first for RAF with spitfire and when USA entered in WWII and accepted illegal immigrants to join the armed forces, he went and voluntered to join the USAAF, forst flying with P-47Ds and later with P-51 Mustung. You can find his story if you google for it. This is Pisanos and his aircraft Enough about history, below you can see the photos of my attemp to build h
  2. Hi guys, i have a question for you. A friend of mine visited USA and i asked him to bring me the ''Pledge with future shine'' stuff. Instead of that he brought me the ''Pledge wood floor finish with future shine''. It smells the same as the the other one, the have the same transparent color and the same viscosity, so should i assume that they are the same formula? Can i use it on models as an acrylic varnish, as i do with the ''Pledge with future''? Is there anything i should have in mind? Of course i am going to test that, but i also need your experience. John

  5. Hi Guys, my name is John and i come from Greece. I follow your site for some time but i have not posted anything until now. I am new to the world of static modelling and this is my third finished model on the row, a Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1A. I tried to replicate the famous No ''29'' of an American Ace Ira Kepford. Ira Cassius Kepford was born on the 29th of May 1919 in Harvey, Illinois, USA. According to published data extracted from Kepford's logbook, these are the aircraft he flew scoring kills: 11 Nov 43 through 30 Jan 44, BuNo. 17684, 12 kills 3 Feb 44, BuNo. 17648, a single Zeke 19 Feb 44

  8. Hi guys, i am building Ira Kepford's F4U-1A and i have started thinking about the painting process, and i want to ask you this: About the insignia white color of the belly, i have the Gunze H316 (fs 17875) and the Gunze H-21 (off white). One is white, not the exact color of the WWII insignia white, and the other one is a bit yellowish. Which one you think is the best much. My opinion is to mix those two colors together in order to break the white of the white. What do you think?.
  9. Hi Guys, i am building Tamiya's 1/48 F4U-1A (Kepford's one) and i want to ask something. What color to paint: 1. the oil coolers? 2. the rim of the wheels (i have painted the gear legs Light Grey FS 35440)? 3. Engine cowling (the thing behind the engine, i dont know if i am using the right term, i was thinking of painting it zing chromate yellow, as the rest of the inner aircraft)? 4. the spinner of the propeller? All the best guys, and as soon as i find the time i will post my work John
