  1. This is my first HobbyBoss A-10 and I must say it goes together pretty well. There are the typical places that need attention (wing roots, engine nacelles, etc), but it is a well engineered kit. And the dropped flaps are nice, too.
  2. Been working on the HB Hawg. Got her sanded smooth and primer coat on. Now off to the paint barn!
  3. What's the weather/wind forecast for the weekend???
  4. Aggressor/Adversary rock! Fantastic work on a hard-to-replicate scheme!
  5. Lookin' good, Art! Keep up the good work!
  6. I also had a great time at the show -- my first in years. Here is a link to my Photobucket dump of the 300+ image slideshow from the Spacecoast. Some REALLY nice stuff there! http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n125/wa...mview=slideshow
  7. Thanks for the kind words! A little background on this kit -- I built this kit back in 1983 and it was the first kit I ever entered in a contest. However that was back before I knew anything about filling/sanding, airbrushes, washes/weathering, etc. Needless to say that Harrier didn't do well at all in the contest. This weekend I am attending the Spacecoast IPMS model show and will be entering this Harrier in the OOB category. Fingers are crossed . . . 8. yes those are the old SuperScale decals. I had to soak them in hot water and then convince them to seperate from the carrier paper. There weren't that many decals overall, it just took a long time to get them to cooperate with me!
  9. This is the Monogram AV-8A. The kit was manufactured in 1981 and while the plastic has held up well, trying to use 30-year-old decals is another story!
  10. yeah, definetly something different to look at in the display case sittin' next to all those old, boring grays . . .
  11. Done! More pics in The Display Case
  12. Tamiya kit OOB, with Tamiya paints custom mixed as called for in the instructions.
  13. Aww, just go ahead and post all 300 pics. We'll wait . . . . Any A-10s?
  14. The paint is the Tamiya custom blends called out in the kits instructions. The wash is Promodeller's Dark dirt wash. it is a clay-based solution that you slather on, and 20 minutes later wipe off with a moist paper towel.
  15. small update: standing upright with gloss coat on and decals started . . .
  16. Jim, Thanks for the heads-up about HM. May I ask how much were they asking for the Tamiya F-16 kits?
  17. Just a few more for your enjoyment . . .
  18. MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL - Southern Command Headquarters - hosted this Airfest this weekend. I was able to make it to the show yesterday and here is a sampling of what my boys and I saw:
