This is my first HobbyBoss A-10 and I must say it goes together pretty well. There are the typical places that need attention (wing roots, engine nacelles, etc), but it is a well engineered kit. And the dropped flaps are nice, too.

I also had a great time at the show -- my first in years. Here is a link to my Photobucket dump of the 300+ image slideshow from the Spacecoast. Some REALLY nice stuff there! http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n125/wa...mview=slideshow

Thanks for the kind words! A little background on this kit -- I built this kit back in 1983 and it was the first kit I ever entered in a contest. However that was back before I knew anything about filling/sanding, airbrushes, washes/weathering, etc. Needless to say that Harrier didn't do well at all in the contest. This weekend I am attending the Spacecoast IPMS model show and will be entering this Harrier in the OOB category. Fingers are crossed . . . It was a nostalgic build for me that was almost ruined by 30-year-old decals that had to be soaked for minutes in hot water to encoura

yes those are the old SuperScale decals. I had to soak them in hot water and then convince them to seperate from the carrier paper. There weren't that many decals overall, it just took a long time to get them to cooperate with me!

This is the Monogram AV-8A. The kit was manufactured in 1981 and while the plastic has held up well, trying to use 30-year-old decals is another story!

yeah, definetly something different to look at in the display case sittin' next to all those old, boring grays . . .

Tamiya kit OOB, with Tamiya paints custom mixed as called for in the instructions.

Aww, just go ahead and post all 300 pics. We'll wait . . . . Any A-10s?

The paint is the Tamiya custom blends called out in the kits instructions. The wash is Promodeller's Dark dirt wash. it is a clay-based solution that you slather on, and 20 minutes later wipe off with a moist paper towel.

Jim, Thanks for the heads-up about HM. May I ask how much were they asking for the Tamiya F-16 kits? -
