  1. I've been feelin' a little blue lately . . . and I LIKE it!!!!
  2. Wayne, I used individual bristle from an old toothbrush. Cut a few to length, dipped one end into a blob of CA and with a steady hand attached them where they should go. Later painted them and was amazed at how much difference such a little thing can add to the finished product!
  3. I saw your build threads and loved each Aggressor you produced. I'd be proud to have mine on the same shelf as your three!
  4. Unless something unexpected comes up, I plan on being there on Saturday. Andy
  5. Thanks, Jim. To answer your questions, I used single bristles from a toothbrush and attached them with a drop of CA glue (steady hand required). Then each was painted with Tamiya Khaki, Nato Black, and Light Gray to set them off. Glad you like them. It was my first attempt at adding them, but I think they really stand out.
  6. She's D-O-N-E. See more pics in the Display Case - HERE.
  7. Here is the Tamiya 1:48 F-16C Block 32 Brown Aggressor of the 57th ATG, Nellis AFB. I added TDP pods, the wingtip AN/APX-95 TACTS pod, and the AN/ALQ-188 pod from the F-16C/N kit. Tamiya paints used for the primary colors. Afterburner Aggressor Vipers decals were used and adhered beautifully ( I love the White-letter tire decals AB included on the sheet!) I also added static wicks using toothbrush bristles applied with a drop of CA glue.
  8. I used ProModeller's Dark wash. it's clay based; slap it on, let it dry for 20 minutes or so and wipe off with a damp paper towel. Does a beautiful job settling into the panel lines. I love the stuff. It's fool-proof. I did use Future for the gloss coat. And my new favorite technique of adding a little Windex into the future before spraying and giving the glossed model a blast of straight Windex before each Future coat dries. Makes the smoothest Future gloss coats I've ever achieved! Actually I used the Block 25/32 kit (with the chin and belly pods from the Agressor kit). Tamiya Vipers r
  9. Okay, nearly done with this one. Just a few touchups here and there and a few tiny bits to add . . . and then it's off to the display case.
  10. Oh yeah! Keep 'em coming!!!!
  11. Beautiful builds! I did a tribute build at the end of '09 for a pilot-friend of mine who flew F-86s out of Soesterberg in the late 50's. I had to make custom decals, too, to get his particular jet. It sure would make a great trio, don't you think?
  12. Isn't it funny how a "wash" can make a plane look so dirty?
  13. I got both of 'em Mike - the one and two-holer, right? Let me know . . . Andy
  14. Got a few of the decals from the AB sheet on tonight, including the carbon fiber exhaust decals from their recent F-16 stencil sheet. Looks pretty darn convincing . . .
  15. I've been on the receiving end of someone's generosity myself. Now I know how good it feels to be on the giving side. Enjoy the Scooter!
  16. 1:32 Tamiya F-4J, F-14 1:48 Hasegawa, F-4s, A-4s, A-7s, F-14, F/A-18s, F-15s, F-16s; Tamiya F-16s, A-10s; Revell F-18E, A-10s,
  17. I am looking for a 1:48 HobbyBoss A-10, and a 1:32 Trumpeter A-10 kit. I have a few 1:32 modern jets and a boatload of 1:48 modern jet kits I can offer for trade. Let me know what you are interested in . . . . Andy
  18. hmmmm . . . I pulled a Tamiya F-16 out of my stash yesterday and when I opened the box, out sprang this brown Viper! This is a tribute to how good the Tamiya Viper kits are . . . I literally pulled this one out of the stash yesterday (Friday) and began the assembly. I'm tellin' you when you don't have to fill/sand gaps and glaring ejector pin marks, etc. all day long, you can really fly on a build like this!
  19. I didn't make the list ;) - but I had a great transaction with Gonzalo. Good communication and FAST shipping.
  20. The old Monogram AV-8A is next on my build list. It will be a "nostalgia" build for me. It was the first kit I ever entered into a contest -- and that was even before I knew anything about filling gaps, airbrushes, and scratchbuilding! I hope to do better this time around . . . .
  21. Bought a few kits at a good price and received FAST turnaround on the transaction. The kits arrived today safe and sound. Would not hesitate to do business with again!.
  22. Had a perfect kit-swap with Bangem82. Kits took a couple of days between OH and FL and I would gladly deal with Bangem82 again!
