  1. As a thread goes, this is just hilarious, and IF the movie is released, I would watch it with you guys so I could hear all of your comments. In any case, regardless of accuracy, or anything else...several facts are incontrovertiblwe. Well they are true. 1. Pilots love the movie. Especially Military ones. As an airline pilot I can say that we know ALL the words. 2. The F-14 was cool before the movie, but is a legend now. 3. The movie was made for the time, SU-22's were getting splashed by F-14's so the "threat" was plausible.... The New TOP GUN has a different set of realities...
  2. Its a shame they cannot just bury them and have a headstone put over the grave of an "intact" aircraft. In 100 years they might actually have some historical interest. Understood however that everything about the plane is still secret, and that secrecy must be maintained.... Still some of those gallant little birds should be protected for the future...
  3. Thank you so much for doing the work to make a truly beautiful scheme that reflects the interwar USN paint schemes. Thank you, I think its perfect!
  4. They didn't get any of the Black ones either, Am looking to do a Black bird in 1/32...any idea where I could get the numbers and Front Canopy?
  5. Looking to get the 1/32 scale T-33 and convert the forward windscreen to the AUP airframe standard. Would anyone know where to source a windscreen for the project? Joe
  6. http://www.amazon.com/Time-Bandit-14-Deadl...d/dp/B002YLEQMG I was thinking the truly best scale would be 1/48 to go with a PBY or a Goose..... All in all the drawings would come first, and as far as it goes a waterline model would be easiest to scratchbuild. Of course the cages would suck mightily if you had to make a couple hundred.....
  7. This is an ex Swiss F-5, one of only two two seaters that are USMC birds. USMCAS Yuma
  8. Any shots of this one? XZ457 Sea Harrier FRS1 / FA2 31 Jan 80 4 confirmed kills over Falklands (2 Daggers by LtCdr. A. Auld, 2 Skyhawks by Lt. Morell, both 800 NAS, HMS Hermes) Converted to FA2 1993
  9. Another video is a bit better...links below! Interesting footnotes regarding the F-86D's to Yuma....the second part has a target towing B-29 clearly filmed flying doing the duty....the tail number is 44-86291....one of the legendary "silverplate" B-29's modified for the Atomic Bomb missions of WWII. This one was "Necessary Evil" and after she was "used up" she ended at NAS China Lake as a target...finally being scrapped sometime after 1956....look for her in part 2 at the 5 minute mark... the F-86 seen in the film....FU-997 is 53-997 and is the one used in the civilian support staff skit wit

  11. Great Shots and thank you.... Is there a 2010 Red Flag schedule?
  12. Blending into the woods....forgotten to all but the owner a T-33A-1LO remains only a shadow of her former self... however the counter arguement posed by 56-3659 of an attempt at public survival has not served her any better...
  13. Two more from the same production block...class of 57' Lockheed T-33A-5-LO 57-0594 (26th TRW) was SOC Mar 6, 1973 for spares recovery.... 57-0561 looking a little worn went to the Turkish Air Force...but there is no record of her service there...perhaps reduced to spares on arrival...or somehow as a major parts donor to a wrecked bird she found the air again...
  14. the T-33 at the fire pit in KCOS 12.2.10 Lockheed T-33A-1-LO 53-4900 to AMARC as TC1324 Mar 5, 1987. Still on AMARC inventory Jan 15, 2008. This one, 57-0536 ended up in Saudi Arabia....the F-100 behind her, 56-3319 (48th TFW/492nd TFS) crashed 32 miles south-south-east of Wheelus AB, Libya on Mar 18, 1969. The Pilot ejected safely.....
  15. Just landed in Colorado Springs and saw this USAF T-33 lying in the base fire training area at Peterson AFB...Anyone have any idea who she is? As an aside the Columbian Air Force operated 6 T-33 aircraft until 1973, and 18 F-80C fighters until??? There is a preserved "2033" photographed...but I have no serials yet.
