  1. I think I have just the thing for this GB. I guess I'm in.
  2. Well the hassle and bustle of the Thanksgiving weekend and the girlfriends birthday have subsided so I was able to do a little work on the T-5 I really screwed the pooch on this one. As I was doing the smaller details I found that the paint on the trim kept coming off. It was then that I realized I never put a sealing cote on this. I figured it was to late at that point but it kept nagging at me. Well on a trip to my LHS I talked to the guy there and he showed me a product called Testors Wet finish. He said all I ad to do was spray it on and that was it. I was a bit hesitant but being the im
  3. Nice work all around but I have to say that frame work for the nose gun is fantastic. What a great touch
  4. I didn't have that problem with mine. As a matter of fact I was test fitting my canopy and it if so snug that I left it in place. Never even had to glue it.
  5. This is coming along nicely. Look forward to seeing more.
  6. The wing tanks have been mounted and now it's time for the wing mounted bazookas. Not much to them really. the bazookas were in two parts and then you had to add the end caps. Easy peasy. Also got the landing gear installed. She now sits on her own three wheels:p I sprayed with future and then started the decals Prop and spinner installed. In this kit the prop was individual blades. What a pain in the arse.
  7. The paint work is looking pretty good so far
  8. I had every intention of buying the Monkee Mobile today but at the last moment I bailed out. It's not that I don't like or don't want to build it but it dawned on me that I'm just finishing up this red on white 65 Mustang 2+2 only to do another of the same scheme. I will do the Monkee Mobile but later on. Seeing how I have a sickness that won't allow me to walk out of the hobby shop without a kit I went with this one. The plan is to start this some time this week.
  9. Great work so far. Can you show a picture of your flaps (top) from the rear? I'm curious how you affixed them to the wing.
  10. Thanks. With the short time left in the GB I'm rushing this and the kind words help. As for the well worn affect every photo I've seen of this particular Mustang is just that. Well worn. If you look at the photos at the beginning of the thread you'll see the wear and now in this color shot you can see it as well. I could have easily gone with what I'm comfortable with and not weathered it but I felt this one needed to be worn to do it justice. Not to mention I need to expand my skills at some point.:P
  11. Nice work so far on the interior. Real nice work on the seat and harness
  12. Side mirror in place but it didn't quite look right. There is a big hole where the mirror would be Using the Micro Krystal Klear I attempted to make a mirror. Thanks for looking
  13. I was trying to add the bumpers when I discovered something. The front bumper had an ugly raised seem on both ends of the bumper (No photo, sorry). Using a blade and then some sand paper I removed the seems but then was left with a bumper without chrome on the ends. that's just not going to cut it. Paint would also not do it justice. Then I had an idea. Here was what I had after working out the seem here we are after applying the foil. Not perfect but it looks pretty damn good from where I'm sitting. Needless to say I'm happy with the results Next I moved onto the running board trim p
  14. Here we sit with the top cote of Model Masters Olive Drab applied. Now with a little rubbing with my thumb over all the locations where I put the masking we have the following result. Next added the attachment points for the external wing tanks Drop tanks installed Tanks as viewed from the top Next will be the bazooka pack Thanks for looking
  15. Continuing with the Mustang we put in the windows Rear Shocks Started assembling the wheels and tires Installed the tail lights and then added clear red for the lens covers Attached the frame and body Interior from the outside Thanks for looking
