  1. I built one of these when the show first came out (with the spring launched torpedos and all!) Recently I bought the 30th Aniversary Cylon Raider in order to test a lighting kit schematic I came up with that totally negates the use of a circuit board. All the lighting kits out there require you to build your lighting kits around a circuit board. However, some models just dont have the space to hide a board in. I used 6 5mm LEDSs. The front holes that use to have the Torpedos I set with 1 white LED each. I combined a white and a blue LED for each engine. When it was complete it looked absolutel
  2. The piece you are missing is 3 inches tall and the ID is 4 inches. Go to your local hardware store or plumbing supply place and you can buy a piece of PVC tubing to replace it. As far as the U S A goes, you can either buy yourself Ink Jet Decal Printer Sheets (They Work Great) and print em to size or you can make a stencil of U S A and Airbrush the letters on it
  3. Ive built a few Saturn V kits including the original one released in 1970 (1/96). Ive always leaned towards matte or satin paint schemes for it. I recently watched a DVD of the full restoration of the Apollo 11 Saturn V Rocket (Remember, the stages were primarily constructed of composite aluminum alloys and after separation fell into the ocean so they werent in great shape to begin with), The paint that the restoration crew was using appeared to have only a slight gloss to it but thats usually the effect of newly applied paint, even if its matte, when applied to non porous surfaces. To be on t
  4. Not for nothing but the brand new release of the 30th Aniversary Viper Mark II by Revel 1/32 is damned nice. It comes set up so you can install a lighting kit into it (which I did and it looks awesome). The cockpit is also nicely detailed and is also set up to install a cockpit LED. The pilot is nicely detailed and their is a working ball-socket joint so that you can move the head into any position. Ive seen most of the Mark II Resin kits built and other then a select few, sorry to say folks, Revel did a great job with this re-release surpassing the resin models.
