  1. Look at all them heavies! Quite the airshow.
  2. Thunder Over Michigan 2010. Sorry for the point and shoot. IMG_5399 by hoveringcheesecake, on Flickr IMG_5400 by hoveringcheesecake, on Flickr On the far right: IMG_5437 by hoveringcheesecake, on Flickr IMG_5451 by hoveringcheesecake, on Flickr
  3. There are so many good videos on Google Video that are going to be lost. Why aren't they just migrating them to Youtube? I'm glad I downloaded a few Chernobyl documentaries when I could.
  4. I went to STS-124 in 2008. Watched it from Space View Park in Titusville. If you get there early enough, you can have a spot on the seawall to yourself. Bring sunscreen. Stayed at the Super 8 in Titusville, as well. Expensive, completely booked (just like every other motel/hotel in town), and filthy. But it was good enough. I'm glad I had the chance to see Discovery go up before she was retired. Now I get to see her at the Smithsonian!
  5. I can't believe they shafted Houston like that. You'll never convince me that NYC has a real connection to the program the way Houston does. I understand California since they built them there.
  6. Jim Benson has given me permission to post these scans of slides that he took at Minot in 1988. I hope you guys enjoy!
  7. Oh for cool! It's great to have you here. Thank you for the background information regarding the photos, and my condolences for Mr. Kenney as well. Thanks for the picture, too! The F-15 shots are a hot commodity. It'll be interesting to see if someone has the originals somewhere. You may also want to contact forum member "ikar". He worked on the F-15s when you were there. He provided us with a ton of great 5th FIS slides.
  8. Thunder Over Michigan was great. If anyone has any request regarding Sentimental Journey I can try and get them in a few months. I should have free reign of the plane if it is at home. Still have to convince the guys that it is worth letting me in the ball turret, though... how many chances do you get to do that as a young guy?
  9. The above pictures are yours? I can remove them from the post if they are. And yeah, his pictures are fantastic. They definitely seem to be the least photographed unit - and I can't find a single picture of their F-15s on government websites. I can for the 318th and others no problem. Danget.
  10. I have more pictures of the F-15s, but I'm not going to post them. Contact me if you'd like me to send you a zip file. I posted the above shots because I'm fairly certain they are official DoD pictures that have been saved countless times and thus lost resolution.
  11. Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. Even less than the Hooligans next door, since their aircraft were simply retired outright.
  12. I don't know about you guys, but this has to be about one of the toughest units to find info on. DoD and Air Force image databases have have nothing that I can find relating to the unit and the F-15. Sure, they only flew them for 4-5 years, but the same can be said for several other units that do have images that I can find in the databases. I've scoured government websites, airliners.net, airfighters.com, pbase.com, flickr, photobucket, etc. First off, I have all of ikar's slides that he posted and they are FANTASTIC. What I'm looking for is any others, or any full resolution shots of the p
  13. While browsing defenseimagery.mil I have noticed that sometimes the military itself will have multiple copies of the same picture with different filenames and some color adjustments.
  14. Any ADTAC squadrons in those F-15 slides? I love the LA bird. What is the story with those tail flashes?
