  1. Well that settles it I guess I'll have 2 Seaking models. I guess my wife was right. Actually I plan on trying my best to convert it into the presidential VH-3D, which will be my most complex modification yet, I have to carve some windows here and there, as well as fill in some stuff, so there could be a good chance I may need matching parts from the second. Here's the only site I have found that documents some one doing such http://www.scalemodelworld.net.net/showthread.php?t=7085. Really I would think that being one of the most heavily photographed aircraft in the world that more people may
  2. My wife and I are having a discussion, I was in a hobby shop about 2 months ago, and asked the guy if he could get a hard to find helicopter model. Hasegawa SH-3 Helicopter model. I couldn't find this model anywhere, and they were quite hard to get. He said he found it at his supplier and would put it on back order for me and see if it comes in. The owner offers to special order it for me and I left him my phone #. Then about 1week ago I find one on eBay and assume he could no longer find one. Today we get a phone call from him saying the model has finally come in and we can come and pick it u
  3. Out of curiosity does anyone have a good idea on what paint to use on these aircraft? I've tried Tamiya Dark Green as well as British Green, but was unhappy with both. The problem I am having is each picture/time I see the aircraft they look like they are painted a different color. I am starting to think that they are using some sort of color shifting paint? Any ideas on what would do a good job representing the presidential green? Also do they use the same color green on both the VH-3d, and VH-60d as they do on the CH-53? I've seen the first two in person but not the 53. Does anyone make a
  4. Hi John, I work on the IVHMS system Integrated Vehicle Health Management System, I saw you are out of VT, you haven't worked with Goodrich have you? I'll have to check out your blackhawk to seahawk conversion later. Adam
  5. Randall, I replied to your pm. Paul, what do you use to do those white decals, where do you get white ink for an inkjet printer, I would have quite a few uses for this if I could get a hold of such thing. Do you mind telling us what printer, and what ink you use? Thanks, Adam
  6. Originally I wanted to build my academy blackhawk into the VH-60, but converting the doors was too hard. Now it is time to build my CH-53e model, which as one who works for Sikorsky on the CH-53K replacement program this is the model I've really been waiting to build. What I would really like to do is build it in the VH-53 paint scheme for the presidential fleet, The decals look as though they would be remarkably simple to make, some pictures can be seen here; http://www.flickr.com/photos/clearskyphoto...57594377470504/ Does any one know if there are any decals commercially available
  7. The Bigger problem than the Decals I think that the project of modeling these would bring is more a matter of getting the proper doors and plastic parts for the side of the aircraft and also getting good pictures. Since I spend part of my time now, and eventually will spend all of my time working in the building that houses the VH Hanger, as well as the main blackhawk production floor there are plenty of people who should be able to catch me "cheating" on parts that I model wrong. At the same time running out with a camera when one of those is sitting out back is a good way to get fired.
  8. I am new to the forum, I've been involved with model railroading all my life either fine scale HO modeling, or 3.75scale live steam. Never model aircraft but similar enough, especially the fine scale HO models, that I am by nomeans intimitated by the demands of small detail parts and doing them right. I just started working for Sikorsky I am on the 53K heavy lift replacement project to replace the 53E and now it is becomming apparent I "need" some good Sikorsky helicopters on my desk. For the Holiday's I got the Academy UH-60L in 1/35th scale and just bought the big Eduard upgrade set. Givi
