  1. Ordered a book and decals. Excited to see HMH 463 Pegasus added to a decal sheet. Ill now have 4 different decal sheets for the CH53... Academy, Flying Leatherneck, MAW decals (i think?), and now this one. Book will rewlly help with adding archer rivet decals to the Academy CH53. Maybe one day I can start back up on the 53D and E builds for an Ugly Angels and Pegasus combo
  2. Thats what I meant. Ch53D, which is the same as the CH53G pretty much. I guess G was stuck in my head since ive been shopping for the CH53G to make a CH53D. I was in the grunts in Hawaii. I was only a passenger on occasion on Ugly Angels and Pegasus
  3. Can often find Revell 1/48 CH-53G or GS or GS/G. They have german military decals, but a perfect platform for CH-53D Ugly Angel decals from flying lestherneck, considering everyone puta Ugly Angel decals on the Academy CH-53E when Ugly Angels only had the D variant. The only HMH in Hawaii that had 53E's was Pegasus
  4. They only had the GA. I was wanting the G or the G/GS, but I don't see a major difference between the three. I am going attempt to convert it the the D version.
  5. I don't think Academy made anything in 1/48 other than E variants? This one is a Revell....still hard to find. A GS version sold on Ebay (with aftermarket Cobra Co parts) for $300. Found it on Hobbylink Japan. I was weary...seemed too go to be true. But they said they had exactly 1 ch-53 GA, and thats what I ordered.
  6. I can close my WTB ad. Found a 1/48 CH-53GA for $40. Kind of stoked for the sweet deal
  7. Looking for a 1/48 CH-53. Already have the E, would like the G version also.
  8. I don't trust Future/Pledge/et al as a top coat. I'll use it to make a gloss surface for decals and weathering, but not as a final finish. My issue is longevity. How will it oxidize over time? Will it stay or will it open up? I feel more comfortable using a gloss coat created for models by a reputable brand if I were to use a gloss coat for a final finish.
  9. Bought 2 HP-CS with the intent of having a dedicated 0.35 and 0.5mm needles. 0.35mm suits my needs just fine and I don't need the second HP-CS. Both HP-CS airbrushed I bought came with 0.35mm and this one does as well. Also includes a grip filter, lube, and 3 pots of Iwata paint with all the instructions, factory test sheet, etc. Never opened. $130 shipped CONUS
  10. MRC Academy 1/35 Ah-1W (original 2002 release) and 1/48 Ch-53E on the way.... Wasn't cheap at least on the super stallion....but since they are discontinued..... Big ed PE set for the 53 also on the way...$25 on amazon seemed like a really good deal. I don't have my set up, tools and accessories like I used to but at least I still got my small TC-2000 compressor and Iwata HP-C plus. Other stuff will come in time, but at least they're readily available such as hoses, regulator, quick connects, paints, glues etc etc. Been thinking about getting an HP-CS, but we'
  11. Been out of the loop for a long time. Wanting to get back into models again. Being a Marine, I like to keep most things Marine related. Im not seeing a lot of Marine air wing decals. Some limited old stock from MAW. Can't remember who else makes any. I don't do anything smaller than 1:48, but I like 1:35 and 1:32 mostly. Hoping to get a 1:48 Ch-53 kit soon. Would like to find decals for HMH-463 Pegasus, which was the heavy rotor squadron on my base that flew us around every so often for field ops.
