  1. That has got to be the MOTHER of all roof rack loads... C2j
  2. The pictured aircraft is a civilian Pressurized Skymaster or P-337. Cessna beefed up the fuselage structure and changed the windows and door to accommodate the pressurization. All M-337's built as O-2A / B have a forward hinged single piece door. C2j
  3. Chhuey, That is FABULOUS work! The level of detail and the paint/weathering is contest winning IMHO. Would love to see pictures without distracting background clutter. C2j
  4. Looks like the old Revell 1/40 Skyraider. C2j
  5. Alexandre, What a beautiful effort on an old kit. Your upgrades bring this kit into the 21st century! I'm a little confused about one aspect of the build. Do you have two rotors - one extended and one folded? I would not be surprised if you actually incorporated hinges in the rotor head. You bringing new life into a classic kit warms my heart. Keep up the GREAT work! C2j
  6. Well, the first problem you have is that you have the wrong kit for what you want to do. The C-53 was built with a DC-3 airliner standard passenger door, not the C-47 cargo door. The "standard" Revellogram C-47 comes with troop seats. I am 100% positive that the C-47 floor will fit right into the DC-3 fuselage. If you can come up with a DC-3 kit, I'll gladly send you the troop seats. I look forward to your build. C2j
  7. Maybe Scooby is just a denier like the new president elect?
  8. Just a couple more updates in the build and you can begin painting... Looking forward to them, Alexandre! C2j
  9. And the first one you can actually get nude pictures of to boot... C2j
  10. I get educated in some way every day... C2j
  11. I'm NOT an expert in this area, but I think the only place you'll see all six together is at the Museum in Ft. Rucker... C2j
  12. OK. I'm confused. TomcatFantastic 123 says he purchased a C-130J and is asking about it.. People are posting reviews and pictures of C-130 E/H model kits. Is that helpful? Not sure... Tomcat, I suggest you do a build report and review for all of us! I'd follow... C2j
  13. Has your brother looked in the airframe logbook or on any Form 337's from the rebuild? A good mechanic will make a note of the paint color numbers in the permanent record for future reference. C2j
  14. THIS JUST IN... Francisco Franco is still dead... C2j
  15. I'm not an expert by any means, but I would... 1. Not tab "indescriminately", but selectively as needed. 2. Test fit fuselage halfs together until you get the best fit with what you have. Note where you have a "step" and which side is higher. Your best option is to have the step on the side less seen i.e. work with what you have to not create more work. 3. Note the thickness of the plastic on each piece where you noted the step so you can allow for major descrepencies. 4. Put the tab on the HIGH side of the step so that the low side will be pulled up when you join the halfs. 5. Get comf
  16. I'd try and find a Hawk / Testors Cessna O-2. It has spinner-less McCauley 2 blade props. C2j
  17. I see why you are not satisfied with the paint. The blue just has poor coverage on half the fuselage! LOL !! I wish the models I make turned out half as good as your Fouga. That is some seriously fine work. Be proud! C2j
  18. You've probably seen this already, but it is a pretty good history of C-45's with Air America: https://www.utdallas.edu/library/specialcollections/hac/cataam/Leeker/aircraft/vtb.pdf Right off the top of my head I don't know of any aftermarket Hartzell 3-blade props. Make a listing of other airplanes that use the P&W R985 engine and maybe there is a 3-blade prop in the kit. DHC2 Beaver comes to mind - what is in the Hobbyboss kit? If you can't find any ready made, scratch building doesn't look too hard (and will add to your skills). Looks like a 95.5 inch diameter in real life. 1/72
  19. I don't know that my "observation and opinion" is of much help. Like Whitey, I see a number of satcom "frisbee's", 2 3 or 4 tall VHF blade antennas and a long wire antenna from mid verticle stab to left of center, forward of emergency exit. The wire is possibly HF, maaaybe ADF. As for the other lumps and bumps, I have no idea. A personal thank you for not posting pictures of the belly antenna farm. I probably couldn't identify anything other than one or two VHF blade antennas. C2j
  20. Don, I've never seen a 1/144 L1649A. EDIT Airliners America did a 1649 in 1/144. A looooooong time ago a guy in Germany (Fleigerhorst) was selling conversion kits for the 1/72 Heller L1049G to make a L1649A. C2j
  21. Vector engines are fantastic. Incredible detail and in most cases a real upgrade over kit supplied engines. Having said that, one must consider whetather the Vector engine will fit inside the kit cowling (or what you are going to do in lieu of the kit cowling). How much of the beautiful detail of the Vector engine will actually be seen and enjoyed on the finished model? Would just enhancing the kit parts be sufficient? Your choice... C2j
