  1. Thanks for the link, great pics
  2. Hello folks, Just seeing if there is interest in pics/scans from two issues of "Aerial Age Weekly" from 03 May and 17 May, 1920. I came across these several months ago, as well as U.S. Air Force Manual 50-12 "Ground Observer's Guide". If anyone wants pics/scans, PM me and I'll do my best to get better quality (than those below) to ya in the next couple days. Looking at it, I should have posted this in the Research Corner...admin help?
  3. Curt, Thanks for the pics, been thinking about this one since I heard about it, this goes quite a ways toward making my mind up.
  4. FFS... When I posted this review initially, I had no idea of the history of GDP/SBM. Since that time, I've looked at the major relevant threads, and I was REALLY HOPING that this wouldn't turn into something like that...I was simply trying to post my thoughts of a product I hadn't seen reviewed, in a community (ARC, and discussing the hobby online) that was new to me. I understand that people have had issues in the past, and from what I've read, they are valid issues. I was just hoping to avoid what started out innocently enough turning into another "Burn the witch" thread. Sorry folks.
  5. I'd be interested in a set of ACMs...and your Clip rack idea is really quite exciting, just wish someone would step up (would be quite an undertaking) and build some accurate 72nd munitions trailers.
  6. Very nice 96th jet. Was that straight out of the box (minus decals and ordnance)?
  7. Hello true believers, Second time I've posted in a few months, and I'm starting to think I'll never find this set, but why not give it another try. FoxOne Decals: 1/72 scale "Combat in the BUFF" OR The markings provided for the 11th Bomb Squadron (Gold tail stripe, aircraft 60-011 and one other) from that set...someone out there has to have this set that they're not using, and I'd pay handsomely for just the one set of markings. And yes, I saw PhantomPhreakII's posting of this set earlier in the week, I was just a little too slow to get them before they were spoken for. Also, would be
  8. Jonah, Well, I was hoping to build "Balls 11" from my days in the 11th Bomb Squadron at Barksdale, or 1016 (the jet that broke my back and retired me from active duty)...but unfortunately, I missed the only opportunity I've seen in several years to get a set of the FoxOne "Combat in the BUFF" decals for it. I'm not going to give up and do this one as another jet, but good lord finding just ONE set of markings (60-011) let alone an entire sheet (which I'd love to have, just for nostalgia and any future BUFFs) has been impossible. I agree entirely about how big of a task a CSRL and trailer
  9. Hello folks, Got a bit of a weird trade for those fans of the not quite civvy and not quite military genre. I happened across a Heller 1:200 scale model of the "Le Suroit", the ship Bob Ballard was on when he/his team discovered the Titanic...while they were looking for the USS Scorpion (or Thresher...can't recall which). Anyhow, the box has been opened but everything is still sealed in the bags, kit is 100% complete, box is in 99% or better condition. Just looking to swap for something interesting...aircraft, helos, armor, ships...just make me an offer and I'll get back to ya. Squadron r
  10. Very nice! Any chance of some WCCM-D coming out for the conventional side, or B61 for nukes? I'll head over and take a closer look in a few minutes.
  11. Thanks for putting out a great product, I'd be happy to include some more on this build and write a more in-depth review if you'd like to provide some "samples" I appreciate the info on the TF-33 measurements. Any thoughts on maybe doing a bomb bay/CSRL/MHU-196-204 trailer?
  12. Really? They cast an entirely different lower wing for the G kit? The HSAB kit I reviewed includes the correct WPA (Wing/Pylon Adapter) so...it should work...but it has been quite a while since I have seen the G model kit in person. There really shouldn't be considerable difference between the wings.
  13. It's an interesting look, that's for certain. I wasn't aware that there was an aftermarket kit for a bomb bay. I've thought long and hard about scratchbuilding my own, just not sure I've got the skills and time to devote to it...might be fun to build up a CSRL (Common Strategic Rotary Launcher) to go in the bay. My side project for my BUFF build will be an MHU-196/204 trailer so I've got an interesting side display for the ALCM pylons I'm not using. If I find a set of this Goffy product, I'll let ya know.
  14. Jakub, Correct, this resin set should work for conventionally armed B-52G or H models. Both of the Italeri kits have the same wing/mounting setup, so either kit should work out just fine. The switch to HSABs occurred in the mid 90s, from the old style pylons (included in the old Monogram B-52D kit). They were necessary to make the transition to smart weapons, and now HSABs and ALCM pylons are the only type currently in use.
  15. Hello all, I used to work on the B-52H at Barksdale, so the BUFF has always held a special place in my heart. I recently purchased Italeri's 72nd scale H model, and set about looking for ways to make it more accurate and "correct" to represent todays active fleet. My first major sticking point was the pylons included in the Italeri kit. While these do accurately represent modern ALCM/ACM pylons (even down to the correct number of access panels), if you're wanting to make a 52 armed with conventional munitions, you're kinda out of luck with them. After a LOT of searching and finding no onl
  16. I've always stuck with resin or painting PEB by hand, but I saw the sets on Squadron this month at a fairly decent price ($5-8) so I thought I'd give them a shot. Should be here soon, I'll post some pics once I get one installed!
  17. Squadron has what seems to be an excellent sale on 48th Eduard "Color Zoom" detail sets, so I bought a few as a trial run. Anyone used these specifically on F-15E, F-16, or F-18s? Just looking for feedback/experiences with them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  18. Thanks for the heads up, Tim. Really appreciate it! Found a set that has JSOWs, SDBs (16 of them, with pylons!), SLAM & SLAM-ers, Harpoons, and IRIS-Ts, all for $13.99 ($18.52 shipped). Still looking for more JDAMs and GBU 10/12!
  19. Well, ideally I'm trying to find a total of 8x GBU-12, 8x GBU-31V1B (JDAM), and 2x GBU-10, all in 48th scale. Got a whole bunch of modern kits with nothing but fuel tanks...I'd be happy to work out a trade/sell tanks for 48th F-14, 15, 16, and 18 if anyone needs them. Thanks! B52HVet
  20. Hello folks, I'm looking for the old 48th Hasegawa "Aircraft Weapons: D" set. Incomplete sets might work, I'd also consider "Aircraft Weapons: A" if you've got one you'd part with. Might be able/willing to trade, so if you've got something specific you're looking for, let me know and I might be able to track it down. If anyone knows of a more efficient/less costly way to come across 48th scale GBUs, JDAMs, and dumb bombs, please let me know! Thanks for looking! B52HVet
  21. Well, due to my own "Economic downturn" I've been reduced to thinning the herd from the top down. Hate to do it, but here's the deal; I've got an Aurora "Space Shuttle Orion" and a "Big box" AH-56 Cheyenne (both kits un-started, with decals, instructions, and all parts). Now, it has been quite a while since I came across these two for sale, so I'm not certain what market value is on them now, but I'd entertain serious offers. Can provide pics of whatever you'd like, can accept paypal, etc. Ah, also have an Italeri 1:35 M-32 Recovery Vehicle and 72nd Special Hobby CH-37C (Yes, the Marine
  22. Greetings all, Looking for a set of EA-6B Prowler decals. I'm not looking for a particular unit/aircraft, just found a great deal on the old Hobbycraft kit, so I picked up a few of them. Whole sheets/partially used sheets, I'm interested in both...just looking for a few different options. The included decals are horrible, the kit isn't too bad. Let me know what you've got available! Thanks, B52HVet Also, does anyone know if there are aftermarket decals for a 72nd scale F-82?
  23. Hello folks, I've got a piece that may be of interest to a few of ya Up for sale or trade is an Aurora 1/144 scale "Space Shuttle Orion". This kit is unbuilt, unstarted, still in the original box, including the Pan Am decals, original instructions, ALL parts (most still on the sprue). Rating: Box: 9/10 (shows some fading with age, no rips, tears, stains, all in all a NICE older box) Decals: 8.5/10 (shows very little age, decals are still in register, and appear to be crisp as new) Instructions: 8.5/10 (shows a little fading, no rips, tears, etc) Plastic: 10/10 (complete kit, 90%+ stil
