  1. The Marines had two KC-130T-30s [164597 & 164598] they used for tanking. But mostly for cargo. The Marines do not have any KC-130J-30 models. I don't think the Air Force wants to waste a stretched Herk for a tanker.
  2. Depends on how much work you want to do and how much $ you want to spend. Option 1 [simplest]. You may sacrifice a little in detail and accuracy, but have simplicity of building, not to mention cheaper. Buy the new Academy release of the Minicraft B-52D/F. Or find one of the older Minicraft B-52D/F kits. Option 2A [more difficult]. Get a Revell B-52H kit and the RetroWings B-52D conversion plus the RetroWings AGM-28 pylon with HSAB/MERs. This is way more work and about 2.5x as expensive as Option 1. Option 2B [way more difficult]. Use a Revell B-52G kit i
  3. Well belay my last. Apparently, the AviationGeekClub was posting supposition using photos from the US Govt DVIDS website. Not sure why, maybe to boost viewership. Though the USMC has not made any comments yet, I doubt they will as they do not have the bandwidth to go after every false USMC claim. Besides, it may have some detrimental effect on Houti morale in Yemen.
  4. Chris, I am a little under the weather right now. But let me dig out my WAPJ and other C-135 refs over the weekend. I will email you what I find. K/r, Dutch
  5. Yes, USMC is very parsimonious in giving awards and medals. More often than not, I have seen them downgrade awards for battlefield valor.
  6. @Dave Williams, Perhaps. I have found that their 1/144 engines and wing tanks are particularly well done, especially the J-57P-43 (F/G) and TF-33 (H). I have used them on the old Crown - Minicraft kits. The other pieces go in the spares or trash bin. K/r, Dutch

  8. Brett, that is most likely. Though why the Marine Corps would purposely publish false information on the DVIDS website is beyond me. If for MILDEC purposes, they are not allowed to deceive US govt, public and press by law. If someone said something in the foreign press and it got back to the US, that is different. They would still have to backstop it though, to prevent blowback, especially from Congress. They write the checks, after all.
  9. Brett, Yes. And there is even a USMC ace now. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/with-7-confirmed-houthi-drones-shot-down-this-usmc-av-8b-harrier-pilot-could-be-the-first-american-ace-since-the-vietnam-war-meet-usmc-captain-earl-ehrhart-v/amp/
  10. That's right Paul. AIM-120 on stbd rail, AIM-9M on port rail, two gas bags for loiter and the full complement of 30mm.
  11. @KursadA, I don't know if you have another AV-8B sheet planned, but the Marine Corps has a new ace. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/with-7-confirmed-houthi-drones-shot-down-this-usmc-av-8b-harrier-pilot-could-be-the-first-american-ace-since-the-vietnam-war-meet-usmc-captain-earl-ehrhart-v/amp/
  12. Hmm, apparently the FAA has still not certified the WARPs. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.airandspaceforces.com/kc-46-wing-refueling-pods-lack-faa-approval/&ved=2ahUKEwi-ke6t46OEAxUTI0QIHR9kDRMQFnoECB0QAQ&usg=AOvVaw3SPrKO0SAtbkYuSUVMd3cy
  13. Especially when you consider that I use whatever reasonably close shade of medium to light gray rattle can is on sale at my local Lowe's or Homey Depot for either or both Airbus and Boeing model I am currently building.
  14. Just masterful bit of fade-shade painting there.
  15. At least it is not a Mach2 kit!
  16. Jost, I also noticed the non-standard "eyebrow" windows. Is this unique to the COBRA BALL? Hmm, after looking online, I see that they are indeed positioned correctly. Besides, if I remember correctly, they are molded that way through the upper fuselage. Nevermind. Nothing to see here.
  17. Just, I have to echo Steve's comment on the speed of manufacturing. I am intrigued by your technique of building, painting and decaling in major sub-assemblies. I am not sure that I could do that without some major issues at final assembly and possible re-paint. I am curious as to your rationale for using this method. I am astounded by your results. Carry on, good sir. Kind regards, Dutch
  18. Rick the two dark spots on the inside of each refueling door that appear to be holes are actually small spot lights to assist the boomer during night / low viz IFR ops.
  19. If you post a link, 2 or 3 baby seals are clubbed to death. You have been warned! 🤨 All kidding aside, you can PM a member with the link offline.
