  1. Thanks for doing this comparison, it’s very helpful and you nailed most of the differences between the two kits.
The inaccuracies of each kit in regards to the actual aircraft is an entirely different  subject and would need its own thread.

But one of my pet peeves is how wrong both kits got the blade droop. In my opinion it’s the biggest visual distraction of all CH-47 kits. Yes, it’s a ‘Hook’, the blades do in fact droop but not how or where depicted in the kits.

From the vertical hinge pin to the blade tip the blade in fact only sags roughly 12 1/2 inches. Now, there are obviously other factors such as fwd head tilt (9 degrees), aft head tilt (4 degrees), smaller fixed droop stops on the fwd as compared to larger aft centrifugal droop stops etc. which effect the distance from blade tip to ground or tunnel cover.  Strut servicing, fueled or not. Loaded, unloaded or flight controls neutral or not can also effect the distance to the ground. But the blades never ‘wilt’ like an unwatered plant as depicted by both kits.
I plan on covering a “how to” post on fixing the Hobby Boss kit blade droop after the holiday. It’s simple and can be used for the all 1/35, 1/48 and 1/72 scale Hooks on the market.

Looking for: Delta Airlines Widget MD-80 decals from Minicraft Models #14534.  I had one on order from a hobby shop, but after two weeks they said it was Out Of Stock, but would subsititute another airline MD-80.  I really want to build a Delta Widget MD-80.  Please PM me if you are willing to sell the decals and decal placement guide.

    Kind regards,

    Dutch

I found some online for you Dutch, I’m having them shipped to your address 👍

That’s such a great livery, I really wish they’d bring it back.
I worked those “Mad Dogs” for 21 years till they parked them all last year. Bitter sweet really, they made us a ton of money but I spent way too much time sweating my butt off working on Pack problems in the tail! Otherwise a great jet, I miss it.

Let me know when you get them👍

  3. Incredible as always Oliver! Your “quick and dirty” builds are better than my best ever builds! Nice work

    Incredible!
For quick and dirty, that's really impressive. I'd love to see what a long detailed build looks like, LOL.

Jeff, search for Oliver’s Seahawk diorama build thread. Trust me when I say you’ve never seen anything like it before!

    Hello All,

Does anyone know the shade of green that VA-25 was using during this time?  My A-7 is nearing the top of my build queue and want to get a head start on gathering the paint.

Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    John

The Italeri boxing has these markings listing  flat green FS34151 for the tail. I can’t validate that for you however.

Hi how are you? Regarding what you mention that if a retail person can publish their products on the page, of course, I like to support people who bring out new sets, accessories or tools that help scale modeling , the only requirement is that they be original articles made by them, the mechanics is that they contact me, send me some "IMAGES plus NO PHYSICAL SHOW" of their or their products and some means of contact with them, I make the publication And if any of the people who enter the page are interested in your product and want to acquire it, they can contact the person who sells it directly and they make the purchase-sale transaction, I do not charge anything for showing it in the page, but if the purchase-sale does not turn out well for any reason, the page has no responsibility for it since it is only being supported to show its product since the transaction is direct Amente between the interested person and the seller of the product, sale of models is not handled since for this there are forums for buying and selling or changing models, NO PUBLICATIONS ARE MADE OF SETS OR PRODUCTS OF OTHER BRANDS ALREADY IN THE MARKET, if It is a complete model, the requirement is that they be new models made by the person, such as Simon Pai's Mangusta helicopter, which was made 100% by him, that is why it was published on the page.
And any publication or post that contains images of a lagoon set or product of another brand that is in the market would be deleted, for that reason they communicate with me, send me their images and some means of contact, I verify that in reality your product does not exist in the market or that is not a copy of a product and then I already made the publication.

No, I was actually asking if you were going to sell your products to resellers like Squadron.com or kitlinxs.com and others.

I’m sure retailers would be interested in your products.

  6. My B-47 sheet arrived today along with several others. First impressions……. Good lord man! What an impressive sheet!

The artwork and detail is simply amazing.

Kursad, you’re arguably putting out the best products on the market today! Keep up the great work.

    Thank you!

How are you gentlemen, how are you? I see you looking and wondering how the interior and exterior set of the Chinook CH-47G Block II that was sliding Xtream Modelers Studio, I tell you that the molds are ready and the first 5 copies are ready and production continues, we just need to finish the instructions to make it available to you

Gekko, any pictures of the parts layout included in the conversion set outside of the mock-up build on Facebook. How about a suspected retail price for the set?

Also, after reviewing your Facebook page, any chance you’ll be offering your products for sale by retailers? Possibly reducing the common problem of customers paying for and not receiving items?
    Just curious, Thanks in advance
