  1. There's a very good review here: http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/mod/solomig25.htm The "R" versions have a completely different nose though: http://bbs.my0511.com/viewthread.php?tid=2020497
  2. It's described as a light weight strike camera pod carrying a Vinten F95 Mk 7 camera.
  3. The 1/48 Hasegawa kit I know of that has everything is this one: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10081873 It includes a little sprue (sprue M) with everything you need for a Swiss Hornet: The IFF aerials (bird slicers) in front of the cockpit. GPS Dome on the spine. ALE-47 Countermeasures dispensers under the fuselage. Correct aerials and assorted bumps. The transparent parts for the night ID light are included in every Hasegawa Hornet as far as I know. They use the SJU-17/ A NACES seat and some of the grilles are slightly different. Other than that you can always build a pre-2004 model of
  4. A relative comparison (Heller / Eduard / ESCI) here: http://kits.kitreview.com/mirageiiicjreviewsh_1.htm I personally love the Heller kit. Very subtle raised panel lines but the cockpit needs aftermarket details or replacement. The landing gear is very nicely done but very delicate ! If any resin is used try to get white metal replacement if you can. Landing gear bays are totally bare. Hacked mine up to make it into a Belgian 5BA but I'd like to do a B from the box some day. Just to show what can be done with it: http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=145224&
  5. Stunning set of Jugs ! (Ahem) Judging by the scoreboard the P-47D-15 RE just about won the war single-handed
  6. Evening Pappy, There were two which could have applied to a late AG51 machine: The temporary overall light grey: http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/draw/eg1_tor.jpg And the standard NORM95 scheme: http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/draw/n95_tor.jpg The intakes seem to be white or very light grey and the camouflage colour has about a 10cm overlap inside the trunking. Hope this helps.
  7. Also available on the new Italeri website: http://shop.italeri.com/Products/21301-2705-hurricane-mk-i-prm-edition.aspx Price seems a bit steep but the booklet and decals do add value.
  8. I have the issue of "Replic" with details of the build. Absolutely stunning !!
  9. Hallo all, My latest build. This is the Italeri boxing of the C-47 in 1/72 (Kit No. 127). Built out of the box but I did replace the front windscreen with transparent plasticard and vacformed the landing-light covers. Decals are by Flevo. First time I used them and they are excellent: http://www.flevodecals.net/images/sheets/72007/72007n.html Fuselage was airbrushed Humbrol 56 Aluminium, the white is Citadel "Skull White" from a can. For the orange I mixed Modelmaster red and yellow and added the same quantity dayglo. I deliberately didn't use Metalcote for the Aluminium as the real t
  10. It`s so subtle you can't even see the difference :D HS146 was the old Hawker Siddeley designation. HS became part of British Aerospace so it became Bae146. Later it was called Avro RJ. The Bae146-200 is in fact the RJ85, the only differences being internal upgrades. The Bae146-100 is the RJ70 and the Bae146-300 is the RJ100.
  11. Serious: The ATC scene in Close Encounters. Less serious: Spaceballs, "You idiots! These are not them! You've captured their stunt doubles!" Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet.
  12. Jennings is absolutely correct about the 1/144 ones but unfortunately neither is a Bae146-200. Revell released the Bae146 as a -100 airliner model and as a freighter with TNT decals. TNT However don't use the -100 so those decals can only be used if you modify the fuselage to the longer -200 version. The included decals for Australian Air Express are correct however. The other Revell release was the prototype Bae146STA military transport which never materialized AFAIK. The Firefighter ones are based on the -200 model which are difficult to find. Bra Z Models did a resin fuselage for
  13. Thanks for clearing that up ! Seemed a bit strange that some fora were adamant about the 32 SU-22s. PM Sent re: the Algerian SU-7s (Don't want to hijack this thread).
  14. Well that's the funny thing. There are quite a few references to Algerian SU-22s but what worries me is that they all seem to come from one source. There are numerous others but they all say the same thing, sometimes verbatim. http://ctridz.e-monsite.com/pages/armee-algerienne/l-armee-nationale-populaire-anp/armee-de-l-air-algerienne.html http://diasporasaharaui.blogspot.com/2011/01/armee-de-lair-algerienne.html It's pure conjecture but it might be that the AAF did at some point get some SU-22. Maybe as part-payment for goods or services, maybe as Egyptian support during Algeria's confl
  15. There are two side-views on Wings Palette: http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww3/a/42/64/0 The site they came from is off-line though. Had a look at some French fora and it seems that the Algerian AF had as many as 32 SU-22s on strength at one point. Together with the SU-7 they were allegedly operated by two ground-attack squadrons based at Mecheria and Tindouf air bases. They were WFU together with the SU-7 in 1997. Dunno if this constitutes as proof though :D
  16. Hello Steamboy, The main thing to remember is that building this kit, or any kit, should be fun ! Basically you can do whatever you want to do :D There are plenty of pictures on this site of models with decal windows and plenty with clear ones so you can see which you prefer. Personally I'm squarely behind oldHooker (thanks for the links by the way !): Most modern airliners come with decals for the cockpit and cabin windows. These are generally sturdy enough to act as window glazing for the cabin after a good coat of Future. If none are supplied I use "Micro Kristal Klear" applied
  17. Braz is your friend: http://www.brazmodels.com/Boeing/B747-400/B747-400Kitphoto.htm
  18. It's all good fun and games until someone gets hurt ....
  19. Most of the kits are listed on Hobby Search: 1/48: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/1393/0/1 1/72: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/949/0/1 Prices are in ¥ but it's an indication. Also interesting to see they turn into gold dust as soon as they cross the Japanese border
  20. Fliegerhorst of Germany did a 1/32 Alphajet some time ago. http://www.aeroscale.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=3416 Website seems to be off the air so no idea if it still current. Dany Coremans of DACO told me once he was thinking about a 32 scale Fouga. Not holding my breath for that one though
  21. Masterpiece really ! Great looking jet and you have done her justice
  22. Could be deliberate but this blatant ? The Boeing arrived at Anchorage at 03:30 local time after a flight from New York. At 05:00 the aircraft took off again from runway 32, bound for Seoul. The flight was cleared directly to the Bethel VOR beacon and then on to the Romeo 20 route. However, the aircraft started diverging from it's intended course and passed 12 miles North of the Bethel beacon. While approaching the Kamchatka peninsula, six Soviet Air Force MiG-23 fighters were scrambled. Because a US Boeing RC-135 intelligence plane was flying in the area East off Kamchatka, the Soviet
  23. Do I understand correctly you are just looking for the decals ? Which ones do you want to build ? Might be able to help.
