  1. I'd love to see that place in person just to get a sense of the size. I've seen rollout photos of the Saturn V (363 ft. tall) from back in the '60s and '70s, and the VAB makes it look like a little pencil.
  2. I am a huge Hendrick supporter, but I always loved and respected Dale Earnhardt. I tend to agree wholeheartedly with these opinions, Don and Jay. I'm looking forward to seeing what Austin Dillon can do. Hopefully he does the #3 proud...and judging from his performance in the Nationwide Series, he has a good chance of doing that. I'm actually very glad to see it on the pole.
  3. Oh hell, Darius...I'm easily amused...LMAO.
  4. The Western Range here at Vandenberg supports a lot of the aircraft from Edwards doing offshore testing, so every once in a great while, we'll get a good window-shaker of a boom here. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's usually "What the hell? Oh! The Raptors are probably out playing around out off the coast again..." When the shuttle landed at ED, if it came in far enough to the north (one time it flew almost directly over Santa Barbara), we'd get the double-boom. That was the coolest thing ever. Liked to use that as the cue to turn on the TV to catch the landing. I remember th
  5. As a kid of the '90's Fresh Prince was one of my favorites. I still enjoy the repeats on syndication to this day. Very sad. RIP "Uncle Phil".
  6. SLO and San Simeon/Hearst Castle are really my neck of the woods. SLO is about 45 minutes north of me, and Hearst Castle is a bit further than that, but not too much. I was just thinking that another thing you may be interested in is stopping by here and taking a tour of Vandenberg AFB. I'm not sure what the tour schedule is, but contact the public affairs office at (805) 606-3595 (yes, it's bizarre that I have that number memorized...LOL) to find out. I know they shelved them during the whole budget crisis, but I heard they re-started them again, however, I'm not 100% positive about that. D
  7. 1:32 Tamiya Mustang and 1:32 Tamiya Corsair :woo:/>! Oh, and by the way...for those of you that don't know, the Tamiya Mustang is not a model kit. It is many model kits packed into one box and disguised as one kit
  8. DEFINTELY go visit Endeavour! And if you're driving from LA to SF, you should be passing right through my neck of the woods.
  9. Well, didn't win anything, but thanks to CorsairMan for putting this on, thanks to those who donated prizes, and congratulations to all the lucky winners! :D
  10. I'm in! Won't be able to be there in the chat room because I'll be coaching at a basketball tournament that day, but I'd love to participate! :-)
  11. I saw it last night. It really was awesome. Evangeline Lilly is quite hot, in my opinion. I love a chick that can fight :) And oh yeah, as far as the dwarf barrel water ride goes...I made the exact comment "Oh my GOD! This would make a *bleep*-ing awesome ride at an amusement park!"
  12. I said the EXACT same thing tonight when I saw the trailer during The Hobbit.
  13. This guy is just plain evil. Thank God he wasn't playing when we got the Warriors last. He can light teams up.
  14. Lakers, baby! But I do feel bad for Derrick Rose...
  15. My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
  16. Last time I traveled by air, my photography equipment WAS my carry-on, and nobody said a word to me about the batteries (of which I had four) in my bag, so I would assume that you should be fine sticking them in your carry-on.
  17. I'd be in for a Hornet group build, too :D
  18. Oh yeah...love the Zelda titles for the NES and Super NES. Have those downloaded on my Wii and still play them quite a bit. The original Zelda is my biggest favorite, Adventure of Link was pretty cool, and Link to the Past for SNES also brings back some fond memories of me and my dad playing that game and swapping stories about how to beat certain bosses, where secret caves were, etc. back when I was about 10 or 11 years old.
  19. Terry, you and yours are in my sincerest thoughts and 's during this difficult time.
  20. As some of you on the forums here may know, I'm pretty much obsessed with the sport of basketball. Due to a heart problem, I was never able to play organized ball, but for many years I played pick-up games, taught myself fundamentals by watching games, watching film, studying, and doing, and by picking up knowledge from a lot of the good people I used to play with out at the local gym. Sadly, I had to give up the pick-up games a few years back because of knee issues (which have been getting worse and worse as of late, but that's a different story), and it was difficult for me to even be around
