  1. Hey all! Almost done with my 1:32 Academy Hornet and I'm thinking that next on the list will be my 1:48 Revell F-15C, but I have a couple questions about mixing and matching from the Revell Strike Eagle kit. I was wondering...will the exhaust nozzles from the Mudhen kit fit in this one? Got a spare set lying around and, IMHO, those look better than what came with the kit. And the intake covers in the Mudhen kit. Will those fit as well? Plus, does anybody know a way to modify it so I don't have to put that nose gear strut in prior to assembly? Thanks for the help :-)

  2. One of the comments mentioned the NOAA N Prime Anomaly in 2003

    The investigation report determined

In other words, somebody removed the bolts, the operations team didn't check to see if the spacecraft was still bolted onto the TOC, they went to tip it over, and...

The spacecraft was repaired and eventually launched in 2008.

Oh, I remember this one quite well. Big story out here at Vandenberg once the payload finally arrived at the launch site after the...ahem..."incident."

  3. I did very well:

    - Trumpeter 1:48 T-38 (to put with my F-117 air show static display diorama)

    - Academy 1:72 F-35A

-AV-8B Units of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm

    -AV-8B Units of OEF

    -AV-8B Units of OIF I-VI

    -F-111/EF-111 Units in Combat

    -Pair of N-ike Kobe IX's

    -$100 N-ike gift card

    :D/>/>/>

EDIT: Spam filter doesn't like the Swoosh brand, I guess...LOL

  4. Avgeek...Well OK fine, I now find myself tagged with another moniker, that has a crossover in class; by that I mean I'm also called a railfan (yes I go out watching locomotives from UP,BNSF the ones in SoCal :D/> ), and the non-flattering foamer (so called by railway employees), they're the same only one gets wide-eyed when he/she sees aircraft the other when he/she sees a Railway locomotive (ie GEVO, AC 6000, GE Dash 9-44CW). I would imagine there are those who do the with seagoing craft. Whatever the type of transportation it's vehicles will have fans....who can't see enough of them.

    Clif...I am a railfan as well :-)

  5. <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":post1:" src="http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/public/style_emoticons/default/post1.gif">Glad to have you aboard. Enjoy! I saw an Aurora perform at an air show here in California about probably about 8 years ago. Sharp looking aircraft. When I was younger (about 5 or 6 years old), their P-3 American counterparts were constant visitors shooting touch-n-goes here at Vandenberg Air Force Base, and was actually the very aircraft I learned to ID by the MAD boom.

Still see them here on a rare basis.

  6. Ever see the Blue Angels yellow (aka Banana Suits)flight suits?! :banana:/>/>/>

I haven't seen any recent pics of them in the white. I remember them as a kid when they were in T-38s wearing them, they may be gone and the red ones seem to come out on rare occasions...if you see the pic of the Solo ejecting he is in red. They used to have a gray suit that they wore back at Nellis.

Yeah, I saw the Blues bust out the banana suits for their first post-sequestration demo at El Centro. I like them. Very striking. Now that I see the T-Birds with white flight suits, I'm not sure I really care for them. They're kind of bland. I do like the red ones. That gray one, though. Wow...that one is just plain sweet. That one just screams "bada$$." Love it.

  7. Ah yes...one of my favorite questions. My musical tastes are pretty much all over the map, so when I'm building, I can be found listening to anything from Van Halen to 2Pac to Godsmack or Disturbed, with Depeche Mode, Pink, Incubus, OneRepublic and oh, I don't know, maybe Imagine Dragons or Green Day thrown in there, too. As you probably can tell, I don't really have a favorite genre of music.

  8. OK...I think I know what your asking.

The TB groundpounders wear a dark blue work uniform, I'd probably paint them Flat Insignia Blue, they don't have an Insignia RED uniform at all. The pilots have a red, white or dark blue flight suits.

    The squadron does have its own assigned photo and video crew. Watch here;

Whoa! They have white flight suits? Never seen those. SWEET! I have seen the red and blue ones, though.
