  1. Looks GREAT!!!!!!!! Please post some pics of the cockpit once you un-mask it!
  2. OK, on a Bravo model Tomcat, empty bomb attachments on the Phoenix racks, no LANTIRN pod. Is that possible, or would a Tomcat with bomb attachments always have the LANTIRN pod out there on that pylon? As I said, it would just have the bomb attachments, no ordnance on board.
  3. Nose gear and main gear struts - freshly painted, not Futured and weathered yet.
  4. As I was saying about the seams .
  5. Made some more progress here - got the pit in, and the seams . Let's just say I ain't lookin' forward to this.
  6. Darren, You know, now that you mention it, I think they may be. They were just some I had lying around from a kit I #$%@ed up a long time ago. To be honest, I forgot all about having these until I nosed through the spares box. Oops...my bad. Ooh...and by the way, I'm gonna hit up Steel Beach for a set of those kick-*** FOD covers, too . To be perfectly honest, I really don't want to go anywhere near these intakes . Thanks for the encouraging words everyone!
  7. Haven't decided on the markings quite yet, but I've narrowed it down to two possibilities - either something in the old Jolly Rogers (VF-84) or something in the overall gull gray scheme, not quite sure which squadron though.
  8. Thanks Steve! It felt weird not to be building a Tomcat. Something just wasn't right with the world .
  9. And the bang seats by themselves. As I said, just basecoats...no weathering or detail painting yet (except for the ejection handles).
  10. OK, now here's where I need opinons. These seats (dry fit) are from the Hase kit - I already had the base coat laid down, no weathering or detail painting done yet. Anyway, do these seem to fit OK?
  11. Here's the front office. I've marked another spot I need to fix up. It seems to me that I notice my mistakes more after I take pictures and look at them than I do right on the spot. Don't ask me why
  12. Well, I've finally been motivated me to start another Tomcat. I mean, hey, I am THE Tomcat Fanatic, right? Anyway, here's some cockpit shots. I'm pretty happy with the way the instrument panels turned out. Thanks for looking  BTW - note the spot I've pointed out. Must fix that .
  13. Over in the "how do you like your SuperBugs poll" :D JUST KIDDING!! DO NOT TAR AND FEATHER ME!!!!!!!
  14. Yeah, the gloss has dried to the touch. I figure I'll give it at least 24 hours to dry FULLY before I mess with it, just to be on safe side. Thanks for the help!
  15. Yes I did hand brush the cockpit. I kind of figured it was a paint mixing problem because after I brushed that one side and noticed the gloss, I stirred up the paint again, and it came out fine. And yes I will be matt coating the interior. Should I do that before I drybrush that area?
  16. I know I've asked about this before, but this question is a little different: OK, I've got the cockpit painted, and it's probably one of the best I've ever done, except for one thing, the black paint on one of the side panels dried glossy. The rest dried perfectly, except for that one. Will I still be able to drybrush over the glossy panel? I can't sand it and start over, because I'd lose all the switches and dials detail.
  17. Sweet Geezus!!!!!!!!! I couldn't pull that off in 1/32, let alone in that microscopic scale!
  18. Thanks for the help guys. Mario, yes it happened on parts I used a brush on.
  19. Painted some gear struts flat white and a seat flat black the other day, but they dried glossy. I stirred and shook the paint, but it wasn't adhering very well, and then when it dried it was glossy as hell. Any idea why :D ???
  20. Pierre, Awesome 12 minutes of work!!! Looks great, can't wait to see the "Madman treatment" you're going to give it.
