Hi, I'm relatively new to modelling. I was wondering what glue people are using for their plastic models. So far I have been using Revell Contacta Professional. I haven't had any trouble with it, but are there better ones out there? I'm specially thinking in long term. I don't want my models to start falling apart. Also, I have found it easier to paint the parts before glueing them together. But would it be a good idea to leave the areas that are going to be in contact unpainted? Thanks for any advice, Kevin

Thanks, I will definitely be building this at some stage but it probably won't be my next project. I will attempt it when I am confident that I can get it right.

Thanks for all the replies. I can see that this is definitely a very popular kit. However, looking at the galleries on this website and some of the comments people have written there it seems that the parts do not fit together as precisely as the newer Tamiya models which I'm used to. So my only worry with this model is that it may need a lot of extra work before it looks right. Does anyone know if the re-release version is any better in this respect? I should point out that I have only made 3 other models before this and none of those presented any difficulties in terms of the fit of the par

Hi all, I'm new as you can see. I am interested in the Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster (61105). I understand that this is a re-release of a model dating back to the 70s. I recently completed a Tamiya 1/48 F-16 which was a joy to build and I was very happy with the quality of the model. The Lancaster being a much older model, how does it compare in terms of presence of flashes, the level of detailing on the parts, the fit of the parts etc...?
