Nope. I remember specifically that it was a conversion to a standard DC-4, not a Northstar. And I believe it was a few years earlier than '93 - I'm thinking mid-80s.

I seem to recall a long, detailed FineScale Modeler piece on someone doing this very conversion years and years ago... maybe the late 80s or early 90s. If you can dig it up. it would probably help you out a lot.

For those of you who have known and loved the renowned Ace Hardware hobby shop in Berkeley, some bad news - it won't be there much longer. It's actually not another "local hobby shop falls to internet competition" story, though. They're losing their lease after 50 years in the same location. They have to be out by June, and after that, the building is going to be demolished to make room for a five-story apartment building. The owner doesn't know when, where, or if he can reopen in a different location. From what I heard, it sounds like he wants to reopen, but circumstances may or may not go hi
