  1. Hi all, here is my latest finished kit, the Eduard 1/48 Profipack Yak-3. It's a very simple kit even with the included photo-etched parts. I've added some extra scratched parts here and there. For paintjob I used AKAN acrylics. This plane flown by Lieutenant Colonel A. D. Yakimenko. I hope you enjoy my photos below. in progress pictures: thanks for watching!
  2. There are two different wing mounted guns included in the kit, that surprised me quiet much. You can see on the left is the late type Il-2 specific, wing mounted Volkov-Yartsev 23mm machine gun, to right is the ShVAK machine gun. At this point I've started to became very curious, since this type gun was used in the early type straight wing Il-2s. And what even more interesting is the large fairing, that I've never seen before. Paint & marking options Tamiya offer 3 painting options for the kit: First aircraft bearing a Kremlin type (two tone) red star, pilot is the Kazakh origin I
  3. I've received this kit and book a few days ago, then started familiarization with the kit immediately. First nice impression is the surface itself. Not the usual smooth as glass Tamiya surface, but a barely sensable textured. This picture published on Hyperscale make the effect quite visable: The panel lines are somewhat different than the usual Tamiya type deep and narrow channels, in this case very fine but definite lines. the rivets and hinges are simply gorgeous, almost forcing the modeler not to cover all these with a dull single tone paintwork, instead during the finishing steps ma
  4. Hi Diego, you built and painted an awesome Würger. Congratulation! Only 1 remark here. According to Osprey Fw-190 Aces book, the Werk Nummer of Priller's A-5 bird was 7298 and not 7289. I guess it's a simple mistake by manufacturer of decal sheet. (John Weal: Fw 190 Aces of the Western Front, Osprey Publishing) that's not a gruppe marking but Priller's personal emblem, an ace of hearts card with 'Jutta' text. (John Weal: Fw190 Defence of the Reich Aces, Osprey Publishing)
  5. update: some cockpit & internal frame pics. AML belt set used to enhance the seat.
  6. no major fit issue so far. the plastic engine is so poor, aftermarket stuff strongly recommended. I got the Karaya Ash-82 resin engine: (more info) However I won't use it in recent project, engine will be closed. The resin engine reserved for a razorback La-5. Much easier to open cowling of it :)
  7. I've just started a new project, a quarterscale Zevzda La-5FN just out of box. Never built this kit earlier, no experience on faults and bugs so all tips or suggestions are welcome! Probably the original decal sheet goes to trash can and I'll use an aftermarket stuff instead of. The AMLD #48012 sheet rests in my stash however the camo/markings not yet decided as well as not yet verified AML accuracy by me. Dry fit: Painting process of interior has started. AKAN 73040 A-14 was used to the base colour, I airbrushed a darkened, heavy diluted A-14 besides the panel lines & frames, t

  12. The recent project I'm working on a 1/48 Tamiya Razorback just OOB. This is Captain Walker "Bud" Mahurin's P-47D-5-RE 42-8487 UN-M, a plane built with war bond subscriptions. Mahurin was an ace pilot and flew with 56th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. Flying the "SPIRIT OF ATLANTIC CITY, NJ," he scored 19,75 victories over Europe. The Jug wears typical ETO camouflage, OD/NG colours with white ETO markings. Progress so far: the parts came together, then I used oil paints to further refine the worn, faded surface and paint chipping added to get a war weary Jug. a fine weathering
