  1. Hi gents. Well I purchased one of these kits from a seller in Hong Kong on eBay today. I donโ€™t see them for sale yet at Hannants or Sprue Bros but I really want this kit so I took a chance. Iโ€™ll post some photos of the kit when/if it arrives. I hope it didnโ€™t buy a pre-order! -Derek
  2. Well, I think I'm about to start my 1/32 F-105B soon. I sure would love to see some NJ ANG decals ๐Ÿ™‚ I don't suppose you have anything in the pipeline for the "B" model Thud, Jake? Thank you. -Derek
  3. What kit are you starting with Dutch? When I built my 1/72 Mach 2 Convair C-131, I wanted a set of the metal detail parts from Welsh Models kit to replace the soft detail parts included in the kit. I e-mailed Welsh Models and they did sell me just the metal parts I wanted from their Convair kit. I'm sure it would be the same for the decals. Good luck! -Derek
  4. Thanks for the kind words everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚ -Derek
  5. Thanks gents. Check it out: -Derek
  6. Hi Folks, Well this one is finally done, my 1/144 Minicraft KC-97. This is another rescue from the old shelf of doom. I started it about 10 years ago - it's the Minicraft KC-97G kit with the fantastic Cobra Co. detail set, finished off with the excellent and fairly new Caracal Models decal sheet. Minicraft didn't offer an "L" version when I started this build. I knew I wanted to do a Texas ANG bird but alas no decals... This kit was in a sad state for a long time collecting dust. Kursad's new decals were just what I needed to finish this kit off. It had sat so lo
  7. Great decals Kursad! Thanks for all you do for us modelers! I'll post a some completed photos in the "Display Case" section ๐Ÿ™‚ -Derek p.s. onto the C-133 next! Hi All, This one is finally done,
  8. I've got the same problem with the Italeri 1/72 A-26C (glass nose) Invader kit. I see them on eBay from time to time - they tend to be expensive IMO - but I always seem to miss out. Good luck with your search! -Derek
  9. Sorry to hear about your surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery! Very cool that you know someone who flew C-133s! I'll bet he has some good stories. Looking forward to some more photos of your build when you can post them. Those kit nacelles sound like a real bear. I'm sure you know, but Caracal has a decal sheet coming out for this kit in case you need it for your build: http://caracalmodels.com/cd144021.html -Derek
  10. Thanks Kursad, my preorder is in! I can't wait to get this sheet and get started on this kit. -Derek
  11. Any updates poppop on your -133 build?! ๐Ÿ˜€ -Derek
  12. This is where I read about the "D" tail being too tall - it was on the LSP Forum concerning the 1/32 Trumpeter "D" kit. So I wonder if this error was carried over to the 1/72 kit? I would assume so but you know how that goes... https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/40546-f-105d-tweak-list/ It's near the bottom of the fuselage section. -Derek
  13. When is this sheet going to be available?! ๐Ÿ™‚ -Derek
  14. Wow!! Looks awesome - another must have sheet Kursad! I canโ€™t wait to get my hands on this one and your C-133 decals ๐Ÿ˜€ -Derek
  15. I have read that the Trumpeter F-105 tail is the correct height for the two-seat F/G models but too tall for the single seat D. Just my $.02 worth. -Derek
  16. I also forgot that a recent Wolfpak decal sheet has a couple of WB-50 options included. -Derek
  17. Cobra Co. never made a set specifically for the Academy B-50. Just K/C-97 and B377 sets. According to the Ginter book (a great book and a MUST have if you plan to build this kit) on the B-50, the Academy B377 kit (Pan American boxing) is useful for better props and wings. I picked up one of these kits at a show this weekend for $20. They are pricey on eBay but keep your eyes peeled for one. True Details makes a set of wheels but are only accurate for early B-50As. The biggest problem with the engines is that they are 9 cylinder B-29 engines instead of the correct 7
  18. Has anyone here tried to use the canopy masks included with the Techmod TBD-1 Devastator decal sheet(s) on the Airfix TBD kit? The instructions say it's recommended for the Valom kit so I'm wondering if they will work on the Airfix offering... Thanks in advance. -Derek
  19. Very nice Kursad! So this sheet is looking like a July or August release then? -Derek
  20. You were going to include an AFRES scheme too, correct? If so, any chance of the AFRES C-119 that used to be at the Pate Museum west of Fort Worth? This ship was flown to the museum from active duty so the markings are 100%, despite being weathered so badly. Here are some photos from 7 - 8 years ago: This one would be easy I would think. The "675" for the nose sides and rear clam shell door, the AFRES rectangles and fin badges, and the "12675" for the tail and that would be it! Thanks in advance, -De
  21. Oh man, that's a nasty gap alright! Thanks for posting these photos of your build, looking forward to seeing some more. -Derek
  22. E-mail sent on the T-38 book. -Derek
  23. What about a sheet of post-war USAF and ANG C-46 Commandos in 1/72 scale? I know that there's only one old kit out there, but still... -Derek
  24. I'd sure love to see some 1/72 C-46 decals. Post-war USAF and ANG markings would be cool. I don't think there are any aftermarket sheets out there for it? I e-mailed Mark at Wolfpak about that but never received a reply... -Derek
  25. Ugh, that's terrible to hear. I have not started mine yet (too much on the bench at the moment) but I'm curious to hear more. Please post some photos of your progress if you can. -Derek
