  1. Good Afternoon Everybody, There is a question which bother me about the IAI Kfir, it's about the drop tanks used on it : are they the same as those used on the Mirage III/V family ? Logicaly, I would say "yes" because the Kfir is a development of the french fighter. But I want to be sure. I started a Italeri Kfir. I have the feeling that the belly tank provided can be used on other Mirage III/V aircraft. On photographs, I saw belly tanks which looked smaller. I wonder if it is the RP825 tank. Please... Best regards JP
  2. Thank you, that's why I mentionned Don... (Ooops !) "You-know-who" ! šŸ˜‰ 2 other reasons why the use of Canadair CL-415 was rejected is that : - regulations concerning flights over Paris can make their use difficult, - these planes are based in the South of France, where forest fires happen usually, and to reach the capital may take few hours (and firemen didn't had time). JP
  3. Good Evening, According to the firemen who fought the fire, when the fire started to attack the towers, they estimated that if they weren't able to save them, all the cathedral will be lost. A campaign for to gather funds has been launched. But people linked with the luxury business and big companies have already promised to offer huge amounts. If you know France, you won't be surprised if I tell you that polemics have started. šŸ™„ To my knowledge, and due to the "1905 law about seperation of the Churches and the State", religious buildings built bef
  4. Hello, It depends of the period. When Heller and Airfix were together, they were the same style of printing (matt aspect...). The kit I'm building is a recent run and the decals have a different aspect compared to those made 10 or 15 years ago. Among the diffrences, they are gloss. In another forum, people suggested me to use other brands of decals settings (Humbrol and Daco).
  5. Hi everybody, I wonder... Are they currently abandonned ? Best regards JP
  6. Hi everybody, Despite my participation on forums are currently rare, I still try to continue models building. šŸ˜‰ Actually, on my workbench, there is a Spitfire IIa (1/72, new Revell kit), a Challenger II MBT (1/72 Trumpeter) and a Hawkeye (1/144 Heller). About the E-2C, the paint job is finished and I started to stick the decals... and here is the problem. I don't understand if my method is wrong, if the Microsol and Microset have lost their power, or if the problem come from the decals themselves ? The decals are nicely printed on a glossy film. But they seems t
  7. Thank you for your answers. The AK Interactive paints set seems to be interesting. However, I have drawers full of paints. Maybe just to buy the blue-black and the bamboo green for to try the paint. Otherwise, I fear that to buy the full set won't be reasonnable.
  8. It seems that people prefer Tamiya's range. I just discovered that Airfix will re-release their new Zero with a new box-art and a new paint scheme option. Here, the color suggested will be Satin Hemp (nĀ°168). Which is rather a light brown shade.
  9. Good Evening Gentlemen, I think I'm lucky to find that topic. I have two Airfix Zero in my stash (the new tool, the "basic" edition and the starter set edition with paint and glue). In the first box, Airfix provides markings for an aircraft painted in a two tone camo (dark green and... " a light color"), while in the second box, we have an aircraft in "a light color" overall... About that "light color", Airfix recommends to use the Humbrol nĀ°90. Humbrol calls it "Beige Green". For me, it's a very light green color (but "beige" in general seems to n
  10. Thank you for your help, once again. Now, I'm working on a small Revell Rafale M. So, the building will probably not start immediately... But before that, I will have to make a list with the improvements and corrections to do.
  11. Thank you very much. Few month ago, I wanted to build something simple and without headache. The Hobbyboss kit of the Bf-109G-2/trop sounded to be a good subject (it is also an interesting source of spares parts). But when I checked it accuracy, I wasn't sure with what to do to improve it. For example : the tail wheel is not the same between a G-2, a G-4 or a G-6.
  12. Hi everybody ! I have some questions about a specific Bf-109. The camo : RLM79 (upper surfaces) and RLM78 (lower surfaces), white (prop, part of the nose, wingtips and fuselage band). Markings : Luftwaffe's crosses, triple chevron and number 4 (white with black outline). It seems there is no svastika. First question : which variant is it ? Some says it's a G-2, others it's a G-4... A decals manufacturer also says it's a F-4 ! Second question : who is the user ? Generaly presented as piloted by Gustav Rodel of JG27. Somebody on internet says it's not exact and the aircraft belonged in f
