Of course they did! I just bought the “early” kit and Hypersonic’s slat conversion a couple of weeks ago. You’re welcome!😄

Got a ship notice from wheels and wings.
-
I might be interested in trading for that wing fold. I have several of the airfix kits you are after.
-
I’ll be getting a few of these too.
-
Thanks, I’ll be getting one.

Getting closer. Anyone from east of GTA looking to ride share?

The clear base can be used in place of gloss black if desired. The gloss black is best suited for highly polished or mirror-like finishes. It basically does the same job in that it lays down a smooth, glossy surface to apply the metalizers.
Thanks, but perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. The website recommends the clear for the same high polished finishes as the black. So why would they make two similar products that does the same job for the same paints? The clear base must provide a different finish, so what does it do that is different than black?

Don I might have the cf-18 decals you are looking for.

The alclad website lists their clear base coat as being used for high shine finishes along with the gloss black base. But it doesn’t specify when to use one over the other. Anybody use it? I have used the gloss black base all time. What would the clear base provide for me? What colour should be under the clear? Is it for models modded in black styrene, that just need to be glossed up?
Thanks

Was looking at buying this pod. Photo resolution isn’t great, so I thought I would ask around here. How is the quality? Price seems reasonable.

I know where you can find them. One look at the price and you’ll know why they have them in stock. Canadian dollars mind you, but still.

To those that have paid for kits, thank you, they have been shipped. For those that have made inquiries, I am working through them the best I can. I did not expect this level of response to such a half a donkey approach to me posting some photos. Many emails seem to be going into spam and private messages seem to disappear into the ether. If you really want to get in touch with me please keep trying, and if possible always list which kits you are referring to and where you are looking to have them sent. Also I have since found out that shipping one kit at a time is not that expensive, still not cheap, but reasonable. Please no more inquiries about the ZM 1:32 skyraider. That thing needs a pallet, and Canada Post executives will be able to retire on the profits from putting that box in mail. No joke, the shipping cost is nearly double the retail price. Delivery to the Hamilton show is the best option.
Thank you

At the moment I am going.

Hey Don,
I have 3 1:32 Phantom II’s. The Navy J, Marines J, and an E. With lots of extras. Maybe we could work out meet up sometime, perhaps the Hamilton show to save postage.

Mine was Leisure World here in London, They had a wall of kits about 40 feet long and 12 feet high.
Mike are you making it to Hamilton in March ?
Don
Leisure World, there were 3 in Kingston back in the day, one in each mall. I spent a lot of money there in the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s. The first hobby shop only store was Lloyd Shales. Woolco and Kmart were really good shops here in Kingston. Actually I still have a micro drill bit set from Woolco, still has the price tag on it, with a few remaining bits. Likely a few other tools too.

The biggest but not the only advantage of the Tamiya kit is ease of assembly.

Seems this guy has knowledge similar to the late Spitfire master Edgar Brooks.

With the two new F-4G’s,in 1:48, has anyone heard of some new decals being released? I can’t seem to find any in stock, that are not not crazy priced. Like these https://www.ultracast.ca/1-48-Decals-F-4-Phantom-s/390.htm. I am only interested in Desert Storm markings.
Thanks

Have a look at the instructions from Fundekals F-4 stencils release. I just started to read the over 200 pages of outstanding free research, and I believe the information you are after is in there. As I am doing exactly the same kit and markings you are.

I started the ZM D, paused while building it to build the Tamiya B, and have gone back to the D. While the Tamiya kit is an easier build, it does not make the ZM kit inferior. I kind of bought into the whole zen approach to the ZM kit, and I do feel it left me with a more complete building experience. However looking at the kits on the shelf, they both look great. Just the Tamiya kit got there sooner with less effort.

A google search for Fundekals F-4B brought me a link to a hyperscale preview of an upcoming decal sheet. I can find no other references to the sheet anywhere else, especially on the fundekals site. Was it ever released? Looking to buy some new decals for my second Tamiya build.
