  1. Leading Edge Hobbies was a local shop here in Ontario. They closed up and are rebranding as on-line only. Their websites aren’t fully online yet but if you contact them sales@leadingedgehobbies.com or call 866 389 4878. They were a huge dealer of Vallejo, and if they are now online only they better have good rates on shipping.
  2. Darren, since you do seem to have well above mainstream knowledge about real F-14s. Coupled with plenty of experience building the 1:48 kits. Can’t you tell me if the wings from the Hasegawa, AMK, and Tamiya kits would be interchangeable? I currently only have the Tamiya kit built, with access to several low cost Hasegawa kits and one AMK kit in the box. I was wondering if I could pinch the dirty wing from the now low cost Hasegawa kit and slide it on the expensive Tamiya (you get what you pay for) if it will fit, or the AMK wing going on the Tamiya kit. Getting the KSL wing to my door is
  3. Yes the beauty of NPT sizing. The diameter is measured inside I.D. partway down fitting as the fitting is tapered. Super easy to remember if you are pipe fitter working with pipe each day, not so easy to remember if you only need to replace a fitting once every twenty years.
  4. The first 100 pre-orders will receive...😄
  5. Has AMK said anything about other boxings of this kit? From the breakdown of the parts earlier versions seem possible. I’ve lost track of where this thread is going so many times now, I can’t say what is in or out. I have 5 copies of the Tamiya kits in A and D form, I bought one of the AMK so far figuring at least I could use the extra weapons, and the dirty wing on the Tamiya if overall the AMK kit was not up to snuff. As it was less to buy the AMK kit than the KSL wing and some extra missiles and bombs. So far the AMK kit seems pretty good, some issues here and there, but nothing to stop m
  6. I’ll put this in my maybe pile. If is is reasonably accurate, and simple to build I can see myself getting one.
  7. I got my ford staff car with a special edition mustang in 1:48. I have never seen the staff car for sale on it’s own. Sorry I don’t have one for you, mine is built. I just realized, Ford and mustang in the same box.
  8. I also remember from a newsletter that the F4F wildcat was planned in 1:48.
  9. Anyone heading to the Welcome 2019 model show in Guelph from east of Kingston? I’d love to hear from you. If you are heading down Saturday and would like to carpool please contact me. If you are heading Friday night or sooner or just can’t stand someone being in your car for a long trip please contact me anyway. I have some kits that I am trying to get to Don G at the show and could use the favour. Thanks Ron
  10. Looks great. I’ll be getting one.
  11. I see from the sprue shots this kit doesn’t have any amazing features like the Bf-109G-6 engine. Just a simple back to basics super engineered, highly detailed kit, that will put a Swiss watch to shame for its amazing fit. Can’t wait to order mine.
  12. I’ve heard that the the Revell 1:48 Ju-52, Hasegawa 1:48 Sea King, and 1:48 Trumpeter R/A-5 vigilante are all really slow sellers considering they are all well tooled, and highly requested by surveys such as the FSM reader poll.
  13. Anyone care to trade their 1:48 Eduard G-6 late decals and PE for my G-6 early decals and PE? Can include instructions too, however these are available online. A super cheap trade option, if you don’t want the box. Note that this trade applies to the new Eduard tooling Bf-109G only.
  14. Thanks for your assessment. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but no denying the images.
  15. Don, I’m interested in the F-14D, and have the A to trade. Along with everything you want except the P-40K. But I do have the long tail K parts, just not the filleted one.
  16. Man to things look like they have been dropped a few times. What colour are they? They look a mid to light grey to my eyes. I assume they are made from sheet metal, and not a plastic composite.
  17. I figured it was used on the trail. Strapping it on an A-1 or black bellied phantom will work for me. On the web I read that in 1973 the US began destroying stockpiles of M-36 with sarin gas. No idea if that is correct, but it is about all I could find.
  18. I was hoping for more of the actual history and uses of rather than just model parts. Resin examples aren’t primary sources, and as such misinformation can always be moulded or cast. Aside from the info from bullet-picker, there isn’t much useful coming up from the google search. I’d love to see some actual photos.
  19. Anyone know much about the M-36 cluster bomb? Not much comes up with a google search. Does it go by another name? Was it ever used? Could it only dispense sarin gas? I noticed the 1:48 eduard M-36 was on for a good price, but can I put it on anything?
  20. I pinched this from from the other thread about F-8 rails, but what is going on here? It appears to my hamster brain, that I am looking at two different sidewinders, a B and a D. And neither have the brown stripe, so does that mean they strapped a live warhead on a non functioning weapon that can’t launch? Seems ridiculously dangerous to me. Does the ordnance come pre-labelled from the manufacturer? Which I would assume they do. Or does the weapons team add the stripes as they configure this missle aboard the ship? As you can tell I know nothing about weapon systems, but I wo
